5.00There were so many hot air balloon companies to choose from, but the kind and informative woman who answered the phone at Grape Escape convinced me this was the company to go with. She was right. The beautifully decorated Christmas lights made the winery where we met easy to find. The staff was outside to greet us as we pulled up. They were welcoming and directed us to the meeting room so we could get all the paperwork and payment out of the way, then we waited for further instruction. I was concerned when I saw how windy it was when we were parking, I knew if it was too windy we couldn't go up. The staff did their best to make sure we could experience a hot air balloon ride. They drove us to different sites, conferring with each other, checking the wind and the direction it was moving. Our safety was the most important thing and it showed. After about thirty minutes, they found the perfect site. We watched them take the balloons off the trailers and prepare them for take-off. Once we got onboard, the staff offered to take pictures of our group. Our driver, Bill, was also our pilot. Bill was great. He's got tons of dad jokes, personable, knowledgeable. During the flight, he was willing to take pictures and answer any questions. Bill was simply the best. After the flight, we went back to our meeting spot and learned about the history of hot air balloons, had a group toast and then it was time to go. I would highly recommend Grape Escape Balloon Adventures. My kids and I really enjoyed our flight and the one and a half drive to Temecula at 4:30AM was well worth it. And the amazing Bill deserves a raise. :) Thank you for a great flight, Grape Escape!

5.00This was a great experience from start to finish. The balloon basket holds 16 people, but it’s divided into four sections and it’s very comfortable. The flight over Temecula wine country is lovely and the balloon doesn’t go much over 1000 feet so the views are picturesque. Our guide was Bill. He is a licensed pilot and we had a great conversation as the friend I was traveling with is also a pilot. They both share the love of the skies and having feet off of the ground. Bill was knowledgeable, funny, and an excellent pilot. It was a very smooth ride, and I am told that Temecula is a great place for ballooning because the odds of them going up daily are high. I have signed up for three separate ballooning events in northern California and the winds have always been too high to go out. It was such a pleasure to have the opportunity to mark this off my bucket list. Temecula did not disappoint. This particular tour begins at the Europa villages and that’s a beautiful spot to begin a morning, and to have a champagne toast Overall, we were in the air about 47 minutes and that was plenty of time to enjoy the morning and the sunrise. The remaining time is in the preparation which we were able to watch. And once the balloon lands in a nearby field, watching them pack up the balloon so that we can all load up in our shuttle to return to our parking lot is an interesting and educating moment. I do recommend this particular tour. It was well run and professional. I felt safe at all times and was able to relax and enjoy the feeling of floating in the air. Riding in an hot air balloon should be a bucket list item, even for those who are hesitant to float through the skies.

5.00The best experience ever! The whole team is so friendly; everyone greets you with a smile, which makes it even nicer and makes you feel more comfortable. One of the staff members even offered to take photos of us once we were already inside the basket—it was incredible! Don't wait any longer and make your decision; you won't regret it!
