MUST HAVE PREVIOUS SWIMMING AND SNORKELING EXPERIENCE OR WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET IN THE WATER!!!
MUST BE comfortable in the water, be comfortable using floatation if needed (we have Ride Along option available for non-swimmers)
Must be in good health and fit condition, must be able to climb a short ladder

5.00The crew was excellent, entertaining, and provided a great trip. The only bummer was that we only saw one manta Rey. There were several storms, so I didn’t knock down any stars because you can’t control nature. But the crew did the best that they could and did their jobs right. It was still a great experience and a fun boat ride.

5.00Snorkeling with the manta rays was without a doubt one of the most unforgettable experiences we’ve ever had. Our captain that night, Aidan, and crew were all awesome and taught us a lot about the rays and their behavior. Even on choppy water I felt very safe. The manta rays were out in full force and I would absolutely do this again. Hang Loose Boat Tours as a company was also easy to work with and able to get us scheduled day-of when we wanted to move our existing booking up a day due to weather.

1.00I’m extremely disappointed with this experience. We booked the Big Island Manta Ray Night Snorkel through Viator, and the provider simply did not show up. There was no communication, no update, and no notice of cancellation. We planned our entire evening around this excursion, only to end up waiting with no information. That time could have been spent doing something else or enjoying a different activity, but instead it was completely wasted. This was not just an inconvenience—it disrupted our plans and left us feeling frustrated and let down. I would not recommend booking this experience unless the reliability and communication of the provider can be improved significantly.

5.00The experience of a lifetime! Hang Loose Manta Ray Night Snorkel was the highlight of our vacation. Manta rays come right up to you, face to face and turn to show you their belly. Some were as big as small cars. Totally amazing! Will definitely do it again next time around in Kona.

1.00Guide did not show up. There were a dozen of us between all the groups. None of us received any details. We all waited 30 minutes before calling and being told it was cancelled and that we all had been texted. None of us had.
