MUST HAVE PREVIOUS SWIMMING AND SNORKELING EXPERIENCE OR WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET IN THE WATER!!!
MUST BE comfortable in the water, be comfortable using floatation if needed (we have Ride Along option available for non-swimmers)
Must be in good health and fit condition, must be able to climb a short ladder
Due to the nature of this tour and the safety of all guests, the tour operator reserves the right to refuse service to passengers who are intoxicated or show signs of intoxication. If, as a result, your tour is canceled, you will not be entitled to a refund.

5.00We loved this tour, however many who attended got sea sick... waves were intense on the rides on the boat as well as in the water. Mantra rays were visible and came right in front of our face touched the masks and our arms.! It was so cool!

2.00If you know how to snorkel then choose this company, if you don't, don't. I found out from another place, they should have provided some instruction, anti-fog and in my case Vaseline or chap stick for my mustache. Since they did not, my mask filled everytime I put my face in the water. I held my breath to get a glimpse of the rays and then swam back to the boat to look at the stars to get something out of this tour. Oh yeah, multiple people vomiting off the back of the boat on the way back. The rays, amazing!

3.00Could see manta ray and it is lot of hardwork and expensive and scary to see manta rays. Very very expensive I wish it is day time. It was adventure for little manta rays… not fun. Team of young boys were running it. They were gentle but not impressive

I booked this tour with Hang Loose Boat Tours, and from start to finish, everything exceeded my expectations. The crew was outstanding — professional, friendly, and genuinely passionate about what they do. They took the time to explain the entire experience, made sure everyone felt safe and comfortable in the water, and shared fascinating insights about manta rays and their behavior. Even for someone who isn’t an experienced snorkeler, the level of care and support was incredibly reassuring. Seeing the manta rays glide effortlessly just inches below you in the dark ocean is something that’s hard to put into words. It felt surreal, peaceful, and almost otherworldly. The guides positioned everyone thoughtfully so we all had amazing views while ensuring the mantas were respected and undisturbed. This was the perfect way to celebrate a birthday and easily one of the most memorable experiences I’ve ever had. If you’re visiting the Big Island, this tour is an absolute must-do. I can’t recommend Hang Loose Boat Tours enough — safe, ethical, well-run, and truly unforgettable.

5.00Crew and captain were fantastic! Many Mantas showed up. Incredible experience. Take meds for seasick before you get on the boat. I was fine but it gets pretty choppy out there and some were sick. Loved this experience so much. Simon was our captain. So fun! Felt like I was in very good hands w him.

5.00This was great! Captain Bryce and his two crew (Vince and (sorry, forgot other name)) kept things fun, safe and made the experience enjoyable. My five year-old and nine year-old had a blast and the crew made sure they were comfortable in the water. Once in a lifetime type experience and imagine kids will talk about for many years to come, core memory!
