Kampong Phluk Floating Village
At Kampong Phluk we hop in a boat and explore, taking in the beautiful waterways and charming houses on stilts. In dry season you'll be able to see the watermarks on the beams showing how high the waters rise, and in wet season you'll see the villagers and fishermen going about their business by boat.
Tonle Sap Lake
Going out on the Tonle Sap itself is a deeply calming experience thanks to the still waters meeting the horizon as far as you can see. We round off the day with a drink (and dinner, if you wish) at a traditional floating restaurant to watch the sun set over the lake.

This sunset tour was truly unforgettable, thanks to Tom, who is an outstanding guide and a proud native of the floating village. His knowledge, kindness, and personal connection to the community made the experience incredibly special. As soon as we arrived, all the children came running to greet us—everyone knows Tom and clearly loves him. He explained the village’s way of life, especially how everything changes during the dry season, in a way that was both fascinating and heartfelt. The highlight was visiting the children during their English class. They were so sweet, curious, and welcoming. Being able to talk with them felt very genuine and meaningful. At the end of the tour, there’s an optional canoe ride through the mangrove forest. I highly recommend taking it. It’s a beautiful, peaceful experience and directly supports the local families who rely on tourism. Tom made this tour exceptional. His passion for his village and his warm personality created an experience I will always remember. Highly, highly recommend asking for Tom!
