The Protest Surfschool, based in the island’s surf capital Corralejo, offers all you need to boost your surfing to the next level. We are a motivated, friendly and surf crazy team running a fantastic surf school for all levels and ages. We offer smaller groups of max 6 students per instructor, adding to a more personal touch and more attention on each student. Everyone can join, a 100% beginner wanting to learn how to surf and have more understanding of how the waves work, to an already intermediate surfer wishing to improve his/hers surfing skills.

What To Expect
From our Protest Surfcenter in Corralejo we go find the best waves of the day for your level, where you will have a fantastic surf lesson with the best surf instructors of the world :) We have surf lessons for beginners, intermediate or advanced surfers and special kids surf lessons. Depending on weather conditions we can go with our surf school vans to surf spots from El Cotillo on the west coast to Playa del Moro or Playa Blanca on the east coast... and everything in between! Our lessons are in little groups of max 6 students per instructor to make sure you get the most progression a safe and fun environment. Aside from transfers, warm up and preparation you will be around 2,5 hours in the water. After the lesson we will bring you back to your accommodation, tired but happy. 5.00Amazing surf lessons! I was the absolute beginner and the instructors took such good care of me. They are super vigilant and very knowledgeable, and I saw considerable progress in my surfing in only 3 sessions. Special shout out to Cristina and Gorro who taught the lessons. Highly recommend!

5.00You will get everything you can ask for! We booked a course for a week and were totally satisfied. Great staff: very friendly, professsionally oriented, flexible and always helpfull! The atmosphere during our sesssions was perfectly balanced between "hang lose" and improvement due to the great coaching by our instructers - especially Miguel !

3.00Was really good fun but really overpriced for what it is - the instructor was really nice. However, you're better on just watching a couple of YouTube videos then just giving it a go. This trip would've been worth it for £20 but certainly not for £40+. Although I had fun, wouldn't recommend or book again on this course.

5.00We had our first surfing experience here. The whole team is super friendly. Our teacher Fillippo was very attentive to us newbies without boring the participants who could already surf. He led the whole course in a very entertaining but effective way. After a theory part with initial exercises on land, we quickly got into the waves - the surf students were allowed to test themselves in the water on their own, but received valuable tips and support as needed 👍🏼 We had a lot of fun and can recommend the surf school without reservation!

5.00Really easy to book. Booked the day before. Once payment went through got an email and text to confirm. Gave height and size for wetsuit. Picked up at accommodation at agreed time. Staff friendly. Instruction easy to follow. Location was great. Had a really good few hours. Enjoyed the whole thing beginning to end. Was a great experience and would recommend this company.

5.00Hang loose Our girls (9 and. 12 years old) wanted to try it out for themselves. By bus we went to El Cotillio and after a short instruction and warm up we went into the sea. Matteo had a lot of patience and helped again and again. He gave many tips and was very nice. The girls had a lot of fun, but were quite tired but happy afterwards.

1.00We had 5 class with this surf shop and all of them was clearly a scam, a way to make the more money out of tourist. We had a different teacher every day, absolutely no teaching (some of the teachers was just in the beach watching us). For exemple on our last day the teacher was clearly not according any attention to us and we were all frustrated to be in a bad spot with waves we can’t surf so all the student when out 30min after the beginning, we stayed all the rest of the lesson watching the teacher catching some waves and having fun. For this level of “service” we would definitely rent our own board and rent a car, it would have been exactly the same for playing in the foam but twice or third less expensive. Highly NOT recommended !

5.00Ladies and gentlemen, if you are visiting Fuerteventura and want to discover the mythical surf spots of the Island, Protest School is there for you. The adventure begins in this shop on the edge of the desert, where Neoprene boards and combis litter the many shelves encouraging decompression and wrinkle. Smiling on the lips from Monday morning, we are quickly taken care of by the team. The opportunity to meet the local Bodhi, the angel-haired Kelly Slater: Filippo. This surf enthusiast, from the Tuscan plains and rider recognized by his peers then opens the doors of his van, heading to the best spots in Corralejo. Between wild dunes and eruptive swells, Filippo listens to us and leaves us with the impression, the space of a session to be alone in the world. Once the warm-up has been done and the first technical advice distilled, on board. In the water, the pleasure is immediate. Filippo teaches us how to decipher the foam of the waves in order to take the best of them. He is there after each of our stand ups to gradually erase our mistakes. In the DNA of Protest, the proximity and smallness of the groups (choice of the school to limit groups to 5 people) allows us to progress quickly and surf, safely! Filippo does not have its eyes on its watch and does not hesitate to make the sessions last, according to the tide and our desires. Above all, Filippo’s experience allows us to discover local spots, far from the beginners’ mill created by the ubiquity of other schools on the island that tend to prioritize their performance over accompaniment. Finally, Filippo knows how to adapt its tips to the needs of each group. Believe us, these two hours of surfing dried us up! And yet... we ask for more. So thanks to Protest, thanks to the team, thanks to Roberto and especially Grazie Pippo! Vic and Greg, two French you've enjoyed.
