Enjoy the magic of surfing with one of Puerto's best schools. Donovan and his team are experienced and certified instructors who value your enjoyment and safety. You will be standing up and surfing on your own after just 1 class. This is a fun activity for all ages.
Playa Carrizalillo is known for it's crystal aqua waters and an easy left-hand break suited for all levels of surfer. The local marine life frequents turtle and tropical fish sightings.
The beach has many great restaurants and is also great for snorkeling or stand-up-paddle boarding; check our other offers for more information.

What To Expect
Fun and professional semi-private classes for all levels. The instructor to student ratio will be 2 students: to ensure your maximum fun and safety at all times. Please contact us direct for private and multiple-class packages. . For beginners: Learn the basics of surfing - reading waves, paddling, standing up and wave etiquette. For intermediate-advanced surfers: Improve your technique. Please note, there is the option for classes to be held at an alternate nearby beach, depending on the swell.

5.00I had an AMAZING time with Donovan, the owner of the shop. I was spending a solo day in Puerto Escondido and decided to book a morning surf lesson and was highly impressed. The lesson ended up being completely private, and Donovan was super friendly, even offering to pick me up from my hostel and drop me off at a different beach afterwards. He is a great teacher and gave me honest feedback after each wave. I ended up standing up on just about every single wave due to his help and advice! There are tons of other shops but I had such a good time with Donovan I would definitely recommend him if you’re unsure who to pick. I am hoping to come back to Puerto Escondido in the future and want to book private lessons with Donovan, he was that good!

5.00Pacific surf academy was epic. My son and I had a lesson with Alejandro - great vibes, spoke english-highly recommend. November waves were low at Carrizalillo for 10am lesson, so we went over to La Punta. Owner arranged a taxi and even gave my wife and daughter an umbrella so they could sit on the beach and watch. They had boards waiting at La Punta for us to use. My son (14) is a beginner and the setup was great: Alejandro had great local knowledge of the wave and helped him position and gave great tips. Gave him a push on a few waves and he stood up and road his first attempt...mid way through the lesson he was paddling into his own waves and riding. I went inside near the rocks and rode some small but consistent waves... La Punta had various surf school folks out for lessons, but it wasn't too packed and there was a good vibe in the water. After the lesson another guy from Pacific academy came to pick us up in a truck and dropped us off at Angelito near the surf school so we could grab lunch and chill at that more family friendly beach. Super laidback shop, good vibes, excellent customer service and communication on whatsapp - definitely take a lesson with that crew - seems great for beginners.

1.00Sonle, the theory was very good, the beach is beautiful and very quiet but I no longer felt comfortable with the instructor in the water; at no time did they tell us that he was going to be hanging on our boards all the time; while waiting for the waves to come to get ahead of us; he hung on the top of the board and tried to make conversation; for this he hung so hard that I made efforts not to fall; I thought that he was going to be watching us and that we were going to hustle to catch the waves; although he tried to make conversation, he has no tact to treat people; to me for example he said: do not be afraid, do not get nervous; and I said, neither fear nor nervous (I do not know where he got that) to the third wave, when he found me he said: already tired? Are you tired? (And I, because I will be tired???) then I heard myself talking to the other girl who tmb was in the activity and said: I thought she was coming with her family, I didn???t think she came alone, sometimes it???s good to get out of trouble, you???; and I with the face of: what happens to this one??? I found it so impertinent and annoying that I preferred to no longer try, I said: you don???t love me anymore; and he replies: does he want to get out??? I almost raised my voice and said: I want to stay here (and swam away) the vdd was an unpleasant experience for me

5.00We had the pleasure of surfing with Donovan today. He was GREAT! We were total beginners and he made it easy. We were travelers from out of the country and It didn’t feel awkward at all. He spoke great English, our Spanish was limited at best. During surfing, we saw a sea turtle and he let us meet him. He helped us immensely when my arms got tired. Would absolutely recommend!

5.00Very friendly people who value safety and coaching in surfing! They don't just send you in and let you catch a wave, they teach you from bottom up, so you start learning to catch waves for yourself. Very big and important difference with other companies. Would recommend them 10/10, thanks guys!

5.00We took 5 lessons with these guys and they were amazing! Very knowledgeable instructors who really focus on your individual improvement points while maintaining a very down to earth and relaxed vibe throughout. Also, they really focus on safety. Our last day had quite challenging waves and currents but Gerardo never lost sight of us. Balu and especially Gerardo thanks for all your patience, valuable tips and fun times! 10/10!
