  My surfing experience in Jacó was amazing. Thanks to Andrés’ guidance, in just two lessons, I significantly improved my technique and now feel confident enough to explore on my own. I especially appreciated that the lessons included photos and videos. Such a great bonus. Andrés has a natural ability to explain and demonstrate clearly, which made learning feel easy and enjoyable.   I had an amazing surfing lesson in Jacó, Costa Rica, and I can’t recommend this instructor enough. He was incredibly patient, kind, and truly passionate about teaching. He made the whole experience fun, relaxed, and confidence-boosting, no matter your level. Thanks to his guidance, I felt safe in the water and actually enjoyed every moment on the waves. Pura vida to him — this was an unforgettable experience and one of the highlights of my trip! 🌊🤙

  I booked a surf lesson during my solo trip in November, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of my entire trip. From the very first interaction, the surf school was professional, welcoming, and well organized. Communication was clear, and they made the whole process easy and stress-free. My instructor, Andres, was exceptional patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about surfing. As a solo traveler, I really appreciated how comfortable and supported I felt from the start. The lesson was well structured, with clear explanations about ocean safety, wave reading, and technique, all adapted perfectly to my skill level. November conditions were great, and Andres knew exactly where and when to surf, which made a huge difference. I felt safe at all times, and by the end of the session, I was confidently catching waves and having a lot of fun. What truly stood out was the personal attention and positive energy. It didn’t feel rushed or generic; it felt like a tailored experience designed to help me succeed and enjoy the ocean. I highly recommend this surf school and Andres to anyone especially solo travelers or beginners looking for a high-quality, trustworthy, and memorable surf experience.   This surfing lesson was super fun! I felt really safe the entire time and I started catching waves quickly. The group was very small and the instructors were incredibly attentive. My class was with Andres and he was fantastic. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Jaco and will be recommending this school to all my friends!!

  I was nervous about trying surfing for the first time, but Andres made the entire experience easy and enjoyable. He has such a positive energy and really knows how to teach beginners. His instructions were clear and simple, and he never rushed me or made me feel pressured. You can tell he genuinely loves what he does. He celebrated every small success and gave helpful feedback after each wave. By the end of the session, I felt proud, confident, and totally hooked on surfing. White Sands Surf School was organized, affordable, and right on a perfect beach for learning. If you’re debating where to take a lesson in Tamarindo—this is the place. Andres is the best!

  My friends and I booked a group lesson with Andres at White Sands Surf School, and it was absolutely fantastic. Andres has the perfect personality for teaching—calm, friendly, and super motivating. He made sure everyone in our group, no matter their skill level, got personal attention. What I really appreciated was how focused he was on technique and safety while still keeping the lesson fun and laid-back. Within the first hour, we were all catching waves and laughing nonstop. He even gave us great local tips about the area after the lesson. This was hands down one of the best activities we did in Tamarindo. If you want a real surf experience with an awesome instructor, book with Andres!
