What To Expect

Banghwasuryujeong Pavilion (Dongbukgakru)

'Banghwasuryujeong' is famous not only in Suwon Hwaseong but also in all of Korea as an outstanding piece of architecture. It is not only for its military purpose but also as an architectural piece, which is very beautiful. The view of Suwon Hwaseong from here is very beautiful, as you can see both the inside and the outside of the castle.

Suwon Chicken Street

There are over 50 fried chicken shops in this alley. It is probably the representative place where the Korean fried chicken culture started. Here, you can enjoy whole chicken fried twice in a cauldron or seasoned whole chicken with various seasonings.

The guide was an excellent communicator and quite knowledgeable about the Fortress. She took time to explain the history at each walking point. Classic about Veronica guide was the food tasting at different points which delves into the history of the Korean way of doing things. veronica was well prepared and easy to communicate with.
