What To Expect
Hwaseong Fortress
Hwaseong Fortress is an impressive structure from the latter part of the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910). The fortress was built as a display of King Jeongjo’s filial piety towards his father.
Hwaseong Haenggung Palace
A Hwaseong Haenggung was a temporary palace where the king and royal family retreated to during a war. Hwaseong Haenggung Palace is the largest one of these, use by the Joseon kings since the time of King Jeongjo. This palace is not only being used as a shelter during war but also King Jeongjo stayed here during trips to worship at his father's tomb.

5.00We had a lovely morning out at the fortress and palace. Our guide Henry was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. There is a lot of stairs and some are quite steep but Henry advised if it was to much we could use the bus as I was traveling with my mother. We would recommend this tour. Thanks for a lovely Tour Henry!!

5.00We had a fantastic day with our guide Dragon. We had a guided tour of the fort and traditional village. Dragon was very informative and answered any questions we had. The transport was really comfortable. We had a memorable day and cannot thank Dragon enough he was an excellent guide.

5.00Our tour guide, Leo, was very knowledgeable and gave us lots of insight into the history of the fortress. The archery option was fun and the martial arts demonstration was very good. I also liked that it was just a half day so it left time for other activities in the afternoon.
