Trip was cancelled and we received notification 3 minutes AFTER the tour was supposed to start. We drove from Kailua to the North Shore, was at the meeting point on time. No text, no call. We waited around for 30 minutes and then I messaged/called both Island View office and the booking app. I understand a cancellation, that is not the issue. The lack of communication is appallingly inconsiderate. Two hours of travel for nothing that could’ve been avoided with a simple text that morning. The only reason I put 2 stars instead of 1 is that our money was immediately refunded, so no drama there. Just absolutely no consideration for our time and gas…

★★★★★ 10/10 – One of the coolest experiences I've ever had. I've wanted to do an open-water shark dive for a long time, and Islandview Hawaii absolutely exceeded my expectations. The Sunday morning crew was outstanding—from the captain to the guides. Everyone was professional, knowledgeable, funny, and made the entire experience feel safe from the moment we left the harbor. You can tell these guys genuinely love what they do, and that confidence carries over to everyone on board. If you're on the fence because you're worried about sharks, don't be. What surprised me most was how calm the experience actually was. The sharks were interested in the boat, not the people in the water. Once you see them up close, the fear quickly turns into respect and pure amazement. Being in crystal-clear blue water with sharks swimming effortlessly all around you is something that's impossible to describe unless you've experienced it yourself. It's exhilarating without ever feeling reckless. The only reason I'm not calling it absolutely perfect has nothing to do with Islandview. Mother Nature decides how many sharks show up, what species you see, and what the ocean conditions are. I would have loved to see even more sharks and maybe a tiger or reef shark, but that's simply the unpredictability of the ocean—not the operation. The crew can't control the wildlife, but they can control the experience, and they absolutely nailed it. I had such a great time that I'd book with Islandview again without hesitation the next time I'm on Oahu. If you're considering a shark dive, stop debating it and just go. You'll walk away with a completely different perspective on sharks and one of the most memorable adventures you'll ever have.

My brother had wanted to swim with sharks ever since his last visit to Hawaii. This time we finally had the opportunity to do it together, and it exceeded all of our expectations. The crew was professional, friendly, and made us feel safe throughout the entire experience. Seeing the sharks up close in their natural environment was both exciting and breathtaking. My brother hasn’t stopped talking about it since it was easily one of the best experiences of his life. I highly recommend this adventure to anyone visiting Hawaii and looking for a unique and unforgettable experience.

Super chill and awesome guys, they made me feel comfortable and informed about the diving. I'll definitely be back in the future. If you can, make sure to bring a cash tip for them, they definitely deserve it :)

This was something I have wanted to do for years, but I have always had a huge fear of sharks and whatever else could be in the deep blue. My daughter and I decided to make it happen on this trip to Hawaii. I was very worried about her since she cannot swim but the boat had floatation pads she was able to hold under her arms. I definitely recommend Dramamine if you get motion sickness or to take just in case, I was very nauseous and wish I had taken some. The water was really choppy when we went as well so it wasn’t better once I got into the water from the boat. The calmness under water was unbelievable and we saw a couple of sharks right around us. On the way to the area we also saw a big pod of spinner dolphins. You cannot bring your own GoPro or underwater camera or phone into the ocean to protect yourself, others, and the wildlife but the guides take great photos and videos of you for free and airdrop you all of them at the end. I would definitely do it again (with medicine). My daughter loved it even more than I did and also wants to do it again. Trust yourself and the other reviews about doing this instead of the shark cage! You have 30 minutes in the water!
