The bus ride there and back is a little long but the train ride is very nice. I would have paid a little more to have comfortable seating. We were tight seating face to face. Overall trip was good.

The Bernina Red Train ride is absolutely stunning—breathtaking views all along the way, from alpine lakes to majestic mountain peaks. Booking through Viator made it easy, and everything was well-organized from start to finish. That said, the trip was a bit hectic. With a packed schedule, there wasn’t much time for personal exploration or breaks beyond the core bus and train experience. It’s definitely a day full of motion, so be prepared for a fast-paced itinerary. A big shoutout to our guide, though—she was incredibly organized and attentive, making sure everyone was on track (literally!) and enjoying the experience. Her efforts really helped keep the energy up and ensured that no one missed the highlights. Overall, if you're looking for a highly structured tour focused on soaking in gorgeous scenery, this one delivers.

This is a very long excursion, going from bus to train and back to bus. Be prepared, as you are in a vehicle for 10+ hours. We were traveling as a family of four and were not able to sit together on the scenic train ride. Parties of two were not made to sit in a foursome, so parties of four could sit together. Very upsetting, as this was the major part of the experience we could not enjoy together. Views were amazing, though and ample opportunity for pictures.

It is mostly a scenic road trip followed by a scenic train ride. So be prepared for day long ride on is and train. The ride is long but absolutely worth it. Kids should not be allowed on this trip because if you have a crying kid on such a long trip everybody will be annoyed.

I did not take this tour because I was told by the viator chat the meeting place was one place but it wasn't by the time I figured that out I missed the Swiss Alps tour. I was able to go on another trip to Lake Como however, I have never been refunded the difference. I have emailed and chatted several times (the first time the day of the tour) but no one has gotten back to me. They keep saying they are researching it and someone will get back to me but that hasn't happened. I would be very leary of booking with Viator.
