We went from the hotel to the ferry terminal. The ferry is on a schedule so be sure to look at the times. The zoo is huge, allow a minimum of 4 hours. Great experience!

Bring sunscreen! Focused on conservation. No animal interactive experiences here. Great volunteer staff.

Make sure when you put in directions it’s to the ferry and not the zoo proper. The zoo was amazing, filled with very cool Australian wildlife. All of the staff I encountered were helpful and friendly. The habitat itself was very natural feeling with little or no barriers between you and the more docile critters. The nocturnal habitat was really neat to experience. A ‘must’ do when in Sydney. I can’t comment on the ferry, I didn’t get to use that part of my ticket purchase because I entered the zoo from land. I’m guessing if you don’t start out on the ferry you have lost the ability to return by ferry. At least that was my experience. When I attempted to catch the return ferry, I explained to the young lady what had happened and she said only…’no ticket, no entry.’ Yet and still, I’m sure it was a great experience too. The ferry looked very nice.

The entire trip was a breeze. Taking the private Ferry to the Zoo definitely made the experience much better. Definitely worth every cent and is highly recommended for anyone wanting to see Taronga Zoo while they are in Sydney, especially with kids.

We did this tour the second day we were in Sidney. We stayed at the Marriott Harbour Side and were within walking distance of the ferry terminal, METRO, the Sidney Opera House, The terminal for the evening dinner cruise and the Overseas Passenger terminal. At the time we were there the exchange rate was in our favor at $1.00 USD bought $1.33 AUS, so it was a very inexpensive excursion. I would recommend taking the courtesy bus to the upper entrance to the park and then you will be walking down hill back to the ferry pier. Since we visited on a Saturday, the Zoo was crowded but we were able to see a lot of the animals and exhibits. While crossing the harbor we were take great photos of the Opera House and the Bridge.

What a beautiful zoo! Animals are up close in a natural setting, I especially enjoyed the giraffes & koalas. The ferry was so convenient dropping you 300m from zoo entrance!

Well stocked zoo. Start at the top of the zoo and work your way down. A bus meets you at the pier to drive you there. Enjoyed all of the seal and bird shows. The zoo keepers are very enthusiastic and informative. Not overwhelming like the SanDiego Zoo but just right to see everything on a leisurely fashion. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit

Quick ferry ride over through the harbor was a fun way to see other sides of the Sydney harbor. Taronga is a beautiful zoo with lush enclosures & active animals, definitely would recommend.

I had two cousins from Europe visiting. The whole process from booking, to claiming tickets at the wharf, to arriving at the zoo was smooth and easy. Staff were amazing. We went to the zoo and they were so impressed, (as was I), with the layout, and the ability to get up and close to Australian animals. They said “wow” over and over and over again. I would definitely recommend booking it as ferry with zoo entry as a package.
