What To Expect
Taronga Zoo
Enjoy a day out at the award-winning Taronga Zoo, home to more than 2,900 exotic and native species. Learn about the different animals through one of the many free zoo-keeper talks; be entertained by the playful seals at the Seal Theatre; and watch the famous free-flight bird show, where birds of prey show off their hunting skills. Visit the Asian Rainforest and see the orangutans swinging in the trees; then pass the winding river of the AGL Amazon exhibit, home to animals from South America.

5.00The Zoo was amazing, I was there all day. Had so much fun, there was always something else to see. The Keeper Talks are a must. The ferry was a smooth experience and easy to navigate. Didn’t need to pay any additional cost at the Wharf or the Zoo, didn’t need to worry about anything.

2.00Very few animals on display despite a beautiful sunny day that was not hot with a nice breeze. We spoke to a zoo employee who said he was embarassed by the condition. We have visited zoos all over the world and understand that all animals are not always on display; however this was our worst experience ever. Also the zoo had very poor signage to help find your way around.

5.00Had a great day out. The Zoo is beautiful and lovely to walk around. Lots of volunteers around to help and a good map. Take the bus up after you got off the ferry as it’s steep and a much easier walk down. The ferry was very easy to find and gave a nice view of the harbour on the way. A veery enjoyable day.

4.00Ferry ride was great. Got to see the Harbour Bridge and Opera House from the bay. It would be better if the return ferry time is posted online, so we can plan our visit better. The zoo was also great. Unfortunately, the koalas wee sleeping when we came before noon.
