4.00Took this tour on our 1st day immediately after arriving in Sydney and loved it, wonderful way to get your bearings on the city, so you can set up the balance of your stay. Having a private guide means you can ask as many questions as you want, when you want and you can better focus on what you want to see. Not inexpensive but I would definitely recommend it
Very Disappointing Experience

1.00After 453 reviews, this is the first time I have given anyone only 1 star. I booked the tour in November, 2025 and was assigned a tour guide. In January I was informed that my tour guide had retired and another was assigned to me. In February, the new tour guide had to cancel due to medical issues, and I was assigned another tour guide. The morning before the tour they told me that the latest tour guide couldn’t do the tour and that they were looking for another one and would get back to me shortly. At 3:00 PM they finally admitted that they couldn’t get us a guide. They offered to switch to another, which wouldn’t work because we had a different tour our only other day here. Since that didn’t work, they gave us a refund. Had they told us earlier and quit stringing us along, I might have been able to move things around or arrange for a different tour. In all my years of booking private tours, I have never had anything like this happen. It was very disappointing. We ended up doing a self-guided tour on our own; but we missed all the valuable information and direction a good tour would provide. If you are looking for a private tour in Sydney, I recommend that you avoid City Unscripted.

5.00This was an opportunity to lean about Sydney from someone who lives here, knows the history and is very proud of their community. Ross was incredible and we loved hearing his knowledge about the building of the Opera House and his favorite places to eat. We went to one of them after the tour and his recommendation was incredible!

5.00Olivia is amazing, we had her as tour guide. She was personable, punctual and professional. Thanks to her we saw koalas up close at the Taronga Zoo. She escorted us to Bondi Beach. She showed us how to use public transportation. She gave us some history on Sydney. As we traveled to Bondi, she told us about the different area of Sydney. She gave us suggestions for the rest of our stay in Sydney. Thank you, Olivia.

We met at our accommodation, and Ross was very friendly and understanding especially given we had only landed that morning. Pleasant walking tour with lots of helpful tips, including how to use the public transport which we used for the duration of the trip. Thanks!
An Incredible Day Touring With A Fantastic Guide!

5.00Peter was an incredible host to Sydney. His communication BEFORE the tour was outstanding - making recommendations regarding money exchanges before even arriving, restaurants, keeping me informed regarding the opening of the new fish market (and sending YouTube videos), etc. The day of our tour, after disembarking the cruise ship and arriving at our hotel, Peter came and met us there to start our journey. He taught us how to use the tram system (which we did use a number of times over the next 4 days), took us to the Opera House (where they were setting up and rehearsing for the next day's Australia Day festivities), around The Rocks area, ferry ride to Manly Beach, walk through the downtown area (hidden gem - the "bird cages"), over to Darling Harbor, and ending at the new Fish Market (opened earlier that week)...and so many more sites - too many to mention. You will need good sneakers to keep up with Peter, as he is anxious to show you everything this magnificent city has to offer. Absolutely worth doing this tour, and try and get Peter as your guide - you will not be disappointed!

We were excited to meet him. We had a wonderful experience and learnt so much about beautiful Sydney. It was also super to understand the ferry and light rail (tram) systems.
