Relax while you see the sights of Sydney from the water as you cruise around Sydney Harbour and dine on a BBQ buffet lunch or breakfast (sat/sun only) served on board. Then head out into the open sea to go whale watching, pass through the Sydney Harbour Heads. Your crew will locate and provide informative commentary on the whales and their activity. These giants of the sea once nearly hunted to extinction, it is believed in history the humpback population was once as low as 200 whales. The conservation of these beautiful animals has led to the humpback population being at a safe level to avoid extinction. It was a delightful day with the perfect weather - bright sunshine, making it just right for a winter sea cruise in Sydney. The boat was fantastic, and the staff were friendly and provided clear instructions, which made the entire journey even more enjoyable. The lunch provided was truly delicious and worth every bit, with Vegetarian options and unlimited tea and coffee available. The overall experience was very good. The timing of the cruise was spot on, lasting four hours in total, including a 2.5-hour journey to the exact spot inside the sea and around 1.5 hours of whale watching, which was just enough to enjoy the spectacle. However, it's worth noting that the sea can be rough at times, so those who are wary of rough seas might want to opt for a shorter duration cruise. We were fortunate enough to see whales, though they were quite far away, and we caught a few glimpses. One area for improvement could be the proximity to the whales. While the captain explained that the boat must maintain a distance of about 100 meters from the whales, I couldn't help but notice other boats were closer. It would have been great if we could have gotten a bit nearer for a better view. All in all, it was a wonderful experience with just a minor suggestion for enhancement.

This trip needs a huge motion sickness warning. Pills won’t save you—it’s like a bad carnival ride for 4 straight hours. 95% of people saw nothing because they were too busy sick: heads down, on the floor, or hugging a bag. And to the one review below downplaying other's experience… stop. It was brutal. The food was good—until it came right back up.

There's is not guaranteed to see whales, even though the ship crew was very nice and taught many things about sea life!

Great day, the tour was very efficient and the staff very friendly and knowledgeable. we were able to spot humpback whales, this was a huge bonus as for obvious reasons this is never guaranteed! The water was very choppy when heading out of the bay and to our view point out on the ocean so I would highly recommend sea sickness tablets. My son and I took two each before we boarded the boat and we were absolutely fine, unfortunately the same could not be said for most of the other passengers! 🤢

Sadly 😥 we didn't get to see any whales, although dolphins and albatross both made an appearance. The weather was extremely bad that day, cold, very wet and with a huge swell running, and this possibly kept the whale's in deep water. But never mind, the day was still very enjoyable. It was well organised, and an excellent lunch was served. Wild animals do what wild animals do and don't perform just for us humans. Thank you Princess Cruises for a great, but slightly different day.
