Self-guided ride with our bicycles to the scenic village of Szentendre, ca. 25km along the Danube. If you follow our recommended route you will leave from Downtown to Margarete Island, enjoy the nature of the car-free island and pass Old-Buda and the Roman Beach.
It is up to you to decide on speed, stops, and enjoying the landscape. In summer you can even make a bathing stop. Ride on the perfect bicycle ways to Szentendre and enjoy the Mediterranean flair at the river.
Plenty to see, enjoyable ride for leisure riders & families or sportsmen & women.
Optional: Finish the tour with a relaxing boat ride on the Danube (ATTENTION: only available in Summer and the boat arrives at 18:10 in Budapest); The boat has to be booked directly with us. EUR 30/person.
Please note: this is a self-guided tour, you are your own guide and have to find the way and handle technical issues yourself. If you want full comfort consider booking a private guided tour.

What To Expect
Bike & Relax
Our office is in Madach Imre street 12, which lies between Madach Square and Gozsdu-Court.
Budapest
Ride through Downtown of Budapest to the Danube Bank. Enjoy safe bicycle ways and some quiet downtown roads. You are your own guide, go at your own speed and feel free to choose your breakes. Pass historical monuments like St. Stephens Basilica and Parliament.

5.00Fantastic service, helpful with advice, directions and accessories (phone fixture, Bungy strap for bag). Ride range of bikes to choose from. Ours were as new and in great condition, good quality, well geared. We cycled 70 kms and enjoyed every moment.

5.00We had a fantastic trip to Szentendre! We rented great bikes for the whole family — two parents and two teenage girls. We followed the route provided and rode all the way to Szentendre. Along the way, we stopped for a picnic on Margaret Island and at the Roman coast along the Danube. The ride was easy. We were worried it might be difficult since we’re not experienced cyclists, and it’s 25 km after all — but it turned out to be very manageable. We also took a boat ride back, which was included in the rental price. Ask ChatGPT

5.00Great day on the bikes. Staff were amazingly friendly and informative and suggested excellent stop points for drink/ lunch. Bikes were in excellent condition. Would highly recommend using this company for any bike hire or bike trips.

5.00We searched last minute availability for a self guided bike tour down the Danube River to Szentendre but none was showing so we got in touch with Bike and Relax owner Thomas directly through WhatsApp after finding the information on his website. He was so helpful and obliging and sorted us early the next morning with three great Austrian style bikes, helmets, water bottles and maps. He talked us through the journey and organised our tickets to return by boat. The 26km bike ride was relatively easy as all flat. Hardest part was biking through the city. Beware of areas you’re not allowed to bike through such as Parliament Buildings square. Time your trip if possible to see the Margaret Island water fountain show on the hour. We spent a lovely day exploring the quaint village of Szentendre. The bike trip was a highlight of our stay in Budapest. Thanks again Thomas for your help organising it for us!

5.00We collected our bikes from a very central location where the owners of the business were so helpful & obliging, setting us up with all the help & info we could want. The bikes were excellent. The trip turned into quite an adventure as the Danube was flooded & occasionally we had to find alternative routes. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

5.00Guide, Laszlo, did a great job showing us around Budapest. The ride to Szentendre and boat ride back were terrific. Only thing is I wished we would have had more time in Szentendre... maybe less time riding through Budapest next time!
