While big bus tours waste hours in Central London traffic, I meet you at East Croydon—just 15 minutes from the city— or another local station to get you into the Kent countryside faster. You’ll enjoy more time at the visit sites and less time travelling, I provide the luxury of a private chauffeur with the freedom of solo travelers. Unlike rigid group tours, I have no strict timetable. If you want an extra hour in Hever’s gardens or a slow lunch at a 16th-century village pub, I adjust to your pace. It’s your day, your way. The ideal trip is to visit 2 of the locations with a stop for lunch in a country pub.
My name is Paul, I am a retired School Principal and I'd love to share my local knowledge of these historic Kent attractions with visitors as I transport you around the countryside.

What To Expect
Hever Castle & Gardens
I will drop you at the entrance and collect you whenever convenient. You can spend all day here or I can take you on to Penshurst Place or Chartwell or even to a local recommended pub for lunch. You are free to plan your day exactly as you like and I am happy to extend my time with you although there will be an hourly surcharge over 7 hours from pickup.
Penshurst Place & Gardens
I will drop you at the entrance to Penshurst and collect you whenever convenient. You can go on to Hever Castle or Chartwell or I can take you to a local recommended pub for lunch. If you want to go to a 2nd location and have a pub meal later in the day I can do that too. You are free to plan your day exactly as you like and I am happy to extend my time with you although there will be an hourly surcharge over 7 hours from pickup.
What‘s Included
Travel will be in my MG EV Estate which can seat 4 additional passengers.
Entry tickets can be booked online or on arrival at the site. Each site has it's own fees depending on which areas you wish to access. The fee quoted is for the Castle and Garden. at Hever.
Each additional hour over 7 hours from pickup time to drop off time will be charged at £25.
Entry for 1 adult to Chartwell House, Garden and Studio if chosen.
Entry for 1 adult to Penshurst Place House and Gardens if chosen.
Entry online to Hever Castle and Gardens for 1 adult.
Entry to Down House online in advance £17

5.00Paul was very knowledgable about everything about Hever Castle and Chartwell plus the local area. Train ride to meet him was very easy, only 15 minutesfrom London. My partner has much interest in all things Churchill and I love old manor homes and early castles. We could not have been more pleased with our selection to use Paul for this day trip. The pub he suggested for lunch was straight out of a history book. Very authentic and great fish ‘n chips! Excellent excellent day with Paul.

5.00Paul is a most excellent guide! We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly and learned so much about Chartwell, Hever Castle and the Kent countryside. Paul did quite a bit of research on our day, lined up our stops and made everything so perfect. He is so friendly and has good knowledge of the area and communicated extensively with us. We look forward to our next time visit!

5.00Paul was great. He met us at the Hever train station and took us straight to Hever Castle. He was very knowledge about the area. We really enjoyed his company. After Hever, he took us to another little town with a castle (we didn’t visit it the castle but the town). He waited for us as we strolled around and we even stopped for some tea. After that he suggest a Pub to eat at, and he was invited in with us and had a great lunch. I definitely recommend Paul. He is super sweet and kind. Best part, because of my interest in Tudor History, he sends me links of podcast. I hope to have found an English friend. Thanks Paul for being awesome!
