Dihua Street
The experience begins in the heart of old Taipei, along Dihua Street, where centuries of trade, culture, and street food come together in one vibrant stretch. Right from the start, we dive straight into local flavors to sample a plethora of iconic Taiwanese bites like pig’s blood cake (豬血糕), a chewy sweet-savory street snack loved by locals, and a comforting bowl of braised pork rice (滷肉飯), often considered Taiwan’s ultimate soul food. To balance it all, we’ll cool down with a refreshing cup of herbal grass tea (青草茶), a traditional drink rooted in Chinese medicinal culture.
Step into the historic Yongle Market, the beating heart of Dadaocheng’s trading culture and one of Taipei’s oldest marketplaces. Inside this beautifully preserved red-brick building, we’ll explore a maze of traditional fabric stalls, fresh produce goods, and local food vendors who have been perfecting their craft for generations.

This was a three hour food tour by Dave. He went above and beyond and the food we tasted was delicious. He also explained some of the history and architecture and showed us some interesting spots along the way. We would recommend this food tour and Dave as a guide to anyone.

I thoroughly enjoyed the tour today with Dave and his colleague. I was a bit hesitant at the start because there were 13 adults and 2 kiddos (a large size) but they did a great job including everyone and it never really felt like a huge group. Highly recommend.

Great food tasting experience that left me full by the end! Corrine was also very easy to talk to and personable. I also found it funny how she kept a bottle of alcohol in her bag to try at the end. Would recommend to any foodie going to Taiwan!

I joined this food tour in Taipei and really enjoyed the experience. The guides were friendly and provided just the right amount of background about the history and culture connected to each dish. We sampled a range of local foods, both savory and sweet, while walking through a historical area. There was plenty to eat—enough that lunch wasn’t necessary afterward. The tour was also flexible with dietary restrictions; they were able to adjust a few dishes as needed. It’s a well-organized way to explore Taipei’s food scene and learn a bit along the way.
