What an amazing adventure this was! Everything was well organized; transportation, itinerary, lodges, food, guides… it was absolutely incredible to get immersed into Peruvian jungle! It has been a dream of mine for a long time! To see so many incredible creatures! I loved the macaws clay licks! Also lake Sandoval was magical! We were able to see sloths, various monkeys, tarantulas, frogs, coral snake, caymans and capybaras. The guides were fantastic and so knowledgeable! First one was Jonathan and second one Ivan. They paid attention to each group member. Ivan went above and beyond to find capybaras for me! I’m so grateful for this amazing experience! Would highly recommend. The food was delicious. Lodge was clean, had cold shower and WiFi in the lobby. They use generator and some solar panels, so electricity is available during certain hours but it’s sufficient in my opinion. They provide filtered water at no extra charge.

My trip was arranged by the green jungle tour company. The arranged all the activities and transportation for us incredibly smoothly. The guides are all enthusiastic, very nice, and helpful. Although I still think there is room for them to improve on their English. The meals are always so delicious. The lodges are doing the best that they can with their limited resources. One thing that future tourists need to know is that most lodges in jungle don’t have a 24 hour power supply, and due to not having power for the majority of the time you are there, the internet/wifi services are very limited. Additionally, only the dining area has wifi. Another thing is that you don’t get hot water for your shower, even in their winter. But there are two highlights in this trip I have to mention: Once I mentioned that I didn’t see the red and green macaws at the clay licking activity, the organizer offered me a chance to see them in my next lodge area free of charge the next morning. Another honorable mention is that I forgot my phone in the car while we were transferred to airport. My phone was the only one with the tour information on it so we had no way to contact the company. Luckily, my son remembered the name of the tour company and with the help from one staff member at the airport, I got in contact with the green jungle tour company office. They responded right away and contacted the driver to send my phone to the airport within 20 minutes. I really appreciated their help and assistance. All in all a great experience that I would recommend again in the future.

This was a perfect Amazon jungle trip, there are plenty of birds and animals in Tambopata. We also visited a native community and learnt their way of life, It is interesting how they rely on native plants for medicines. We also savoured different traditional Amazon food, was quite an edxperience. Everything was just perfect.
