The zoo was awesome and the ferry ride over was a nice bonus. Lots of animals that are not native to the northern hemisphere.

Up & Down Hills. If in summer, make sure you have water and rest breaks. Great Park, also beautiful views of downtown Sydney!

The zoo is in a great location and easily accessible by ferry. The bessee entrance would be from above (accessible by bus) so you can then go down the mountain comfortably. The individual departments are well written and one can only hope that the animals are also "day active".

We went to Taronga zoo on a hot sunny day. The views from ferry are amazing. the zoo had a lot of shaded areas and easy to walk around. we saw emu, Koalas, wallaby, Tasmanian devil, reptiles, penquin, a lot of birds +++ Highly recommend.

Take a ferry across Sydney Harbour to Tarranga zoo. It’s worth doing the trip just to get the view of the harbour bridge, opera house and Sydney skyline from a different angle. Very efficient ferry service. The zoo is a treat with beautiful animals in a lively setting. Again the views back to Sydney city are amazing. A zoo with a view !

Should be aware that the zoo is on steep slope. Escalators and elevators are there, however expect to walk up some slopes.

Very easy to redeem ticket voucher for actual tickets @ ticket office. Ferry was very prompt, both going to the zoo and then back

The Zoo was absolutely amazing! There is a bus located at the bottom of the hill at the Ferry Entry for a fee. Inside the park also has a tram for a fee. As it is on a significant hill it would have been nice if the bus up or the tram wasn't an added cost. However, the exhibits were great and some large aviaries. We went throughout the week so there were not many people there and a few of the eateries were closed. The return Ferry was gone before the departure time and only has very few return trips, arrive early and keep an eye on the time. We were there approximately 4 hours and could have stayed longer!

We arrived by ferry at 10:15am on Friday 20th February, eager to visit the famous Taronga Zoo. To say that I felt underwhelmed would be an understatement. I have been to many zoos, here and overseas, and unfortunately Taronga Zoo was nothing special and did not 'stand out'. The zoo is very well planned out however there were a few enclosures that were closed, and I felt sad for the birds/animals that were kept alone. The large animals were asleep (Lion and 3 lionesses, and one tiger on his own) most of the time and hard to see. Did not see any elephants. The Reptile enclosure was ordinary, would have been fantastic to see a crocodile (like at Melbourne Zoo)! We did see the feeding of the Gorillas which was interesting. I was disappointed with the experience and my thought of "seen one zoo, seen 'em all" remains prominent. Great view of the harbour though!
