A visit to this Cellar is a voyage in time and history: here is the essence of the sweet Tuscan earth, the wine, that they already took care of, worshiped and consumed in happiness and joy, with passion and tenacity our distant ancestors, the Etruscans, some centuries earlies than the Christian era.

The cellar is located in the center of Montepulciano, a no-car zone. Recommended parking lots: "Parking S. Donato" or "Parking P8"

Respecting the philosophy of great red wines, and the terms defined for the aging in wood here we find rows of enormous Slavonian oak barrels, perfectly conserved, where lie thousands of hectolitres of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, and other rows with dozens of tonneaux and barrique barrels made of quality French wood. In the other areas of the historic cellar one is pushed and squeezed gradually into the buried depths of the sandy tufa to penetrate into the twilight, suggestive paths of tunnels have been created from which fossils have been found denoting its very ancient origins.

Extraordinary place, and lots of info provided! Wine was great, pace of the tour as well, along the organization. The only thing I would recommend is to give people a bit more time to take pics, when group is bigger is a bit challenging to get the right one :) but it's rather a recommendation. Overall, we really enjoyed the tour!

Our tasting tour at De'Ricci Cantine Storiche was nothing short of magical! It is easy to see why this is considered one of the most beautiful cellars in the world. The architecture and atmosphere alone are breathtaking, but the experience was made truly extraordinary by our guide, Emilio. Emilio was amazing—incredibly engaging, knowledgeable, and passionate. He took the time to explain the history of the cellars and the nuances of each wine, making the entire tasting both educational and fun. He didn't just lead a tour; he provided us with a world-class experience. If you are a wine lover or just appreciate incredible history and beauty, this tour is an absolute must. Highly recommended!

Very cool winery caves where they store their wine. Our host was very informative. We learned a lot history about the winery. We enjoyed several tastings of wine at the end.

It was really good, very interesting to learn about the cellar, and it was fun to learn a bit about the pairing of food with what wine. However, a bit of guidance on what cheese to eat with what wine would of been nice. But overall very well organized, very friendly, and fun, and interesting especially if you like to learn about the history

This is an amazing tour of the winery complete with seeing old tunnels/wine cellars from the 1500s - wild! The wine was tasting and Debbie was generous with the pours and helping us ship wine home.

This is a must do! The history, the incredible cellars, and you get to talk with owners and be guided (at our time) by the cellar's Sommelier! Plus, they provide insight on where the grapes are from before a fantastic tasting!
