We had a very pleasant experience on the Tea Around Town bus. The bus was on time and our guide Tziah was upbeat and informative about everything we saw. She even sang a few songs for us and had a wonderful voice. The food was acceptable and the teas were excellent. We got a good example of the company's customer service when we left a small backpack with some much needed medical supplies on the bus when we left the tour. We called the customer service phone number and were eventually connected to a staff who found the backpack. She waited to go home while we walked to their address. She brought the backpack down to the lobby and we were very appreciative. Great customer service and fun experience with Tea Around Town.

This tour misses the mark in many ways. I'm sad to say that a much-anticipated activity with my friend who had traveled from Florida did not go as planned. First, there wasn't a staff member there to greet everyone, so we all were a bit worried if we were in the right place. The tour bus arrived over 20 minutes late with no explanation, which resulted in our tour being shortened in the end. The other people there for the tour were mostly tween and teen girls with their mothers for birthday celebrations. The bus was decorated with faux pink roses, and appeared clean. We payed extra to be on the top of the bus for the best view, which was nice. The staff did not point out many landmarks as we drove around the city, but instead sang Happy Birthday and other sing-along songs the majority of the tour. That was not really what we had expected to experience, but we just laughed and watched these girls celebrate their birthday. The real issue we had--and what prompted this review--was the fact that the food was already on the table when we got on the bus, and it seemed to have been there for a while because it was all room temperature. Things that should have been served chilled or, at least, having been recently refrigerated (egg salad, seafood, various desserts, etc.) were all warm and/or melting. We were afraid to eat most of what was prepared, in fear of food poisoning. We were both disappointed that what was supposed to be a fun activity had turned out like this. Finally, the price of this tour was not cheap so we expected more for our money. That did not stop the tour operators from spending the last several minutes of the tour repeatedly telling guests to leave tips, and all the ways they can do so. At the end of the tour, they were standing at the doors with credit card machines, as if tips were required. I thought this approach was a bit aggressive, since a tip comes from receiving exceptional service, not any obligation. If you choose to take this tour, check the food before you eat it.

This birthday gift from my son was unforgettable. Our driver, Joe, was courteous and exceptional. Carmen, the main hostess, was an excellent tour guide, and the extra entertainment was the perfect touch. Dionna was a gracious and attentive server. The entire team made the experience truly memorable. I can't wait for the next city tour!

This was my second time on the Tea Around Town bus and I love it. This time I took my elderly mother for a mother-daughter outing, and my mom seemed delighted. The atmosphere is fun, the service is great (thank you, Carmen and Philly!), and the sights are what you would hope for: all the major monuments on the National Mall, the White House, the Potomac River, and more. To set expectations, this is not a Michelin starred restaurant and you will not have food that is out of this world. But there is plenty of variety, the scones and finger sandwiches are delightful, and the different types of tea pairs well. All in all, I highly recommend and can’t wait to return for a third time! Lots of fun for visiting guests. Pro Tips: 1) I’m pretty sure you are assigned your table based on when you make your reservation, not what place you are in line when you line up as the bus arrives. So no need to push your way to the front as you try to board. 2) The steps are very steep getting to the top level, but my 80 year old mom was able to make it. Staff helps and there are a ton of grab bars to assist you.

What an amazing concept but poorly executed/coordinated. I’ve been to many tea parties and this one was by far the worst. Our timed reservations were delayed by 2 hours, the ride itself only lasted 1 hour (cutting us short). Food was not good and tea was basic to say the least. Very disappointed, mostly due to the cost. Tip- stop being greedy and reduce the time slots to allow time in between reservations and get your food from somewhere with better Quality. This was not worth the money or headache.

My first and last experience. My reservation was set for 2pm for the Luxe package. We did not board the bus until 4pm. I was starved and dived into the cracker and salmon (or shrimp). The cracker was stale. I was afraid to try the other snack on the table, so I went for a finger sandwich. It wasn't good. My sister ate a pudding like cup with her fingers as no utensil was provided. The tour went so fast, taking pictures was a waste. The singer on board was very nice. It was my first and only time for this experience. I will not be doing this again, nor will I recommend it.
