This is a fully organized, all-in-one day adventure that combines scenic driving, a visit to the Enchanted Forest, and a longer guided hike through a remote, less-traveled part of the Anaga Mountains.
Along the way, you’ll experience varied terrain — forest paths, mountain ridges, and short tunnel sections — in places that are often quiet and uncrowded.
The tour is well suited for cruise guests visiting Tenerife, offering a rare opportunity to explore these landscapes within a single day. Pickup and transport in a comfortable, air-conditioned minivan make the logistics easy, while the small-group format keeps the experience personal.
A relaxed picnic break in nature and photos after the tour complete the day.

Spend a full day exploring the Anaga Mountains on a guided hiking tour in Tenerife’s UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, away from the busy resorts. Pickup is provided from the southern or eastern coastal areas, followed by a drive to Anaga. You’ll start with a short introductory walk (about 25–35 minutes) in the misty Enchanted Forest, where laurel trees and shifting clouds create a unique atmosphere. In clear weather, you may also catch distant views of Mount Teide. Next, travel by vehicle to the main trailhead, passing a still-inhabited cliffside cave village along the way. The main hike follows mountain trails across ridges, forested slopes, and valleys, with varied terrain and constantly changing scenery. Your guide shares insights into the region’s nature, history, and everyday life, and a relaxed picnic break is included (hilltop or inside a cave, depending on conditions). This experience works well for experienced hikers and for first-timers in good general physical condition, but it does involve uneven terrain and narrow paths. The route ends with a short but physically demanding final climb. After the tour, you’ll receive 20–30 digital photos taken throughout the day.

Wow what a great experience. Alex was extremely knowledgeable and put our group at ease very quickly. A stunning area to explore walking along some spectacular routes usually reserved for Goats ( Greatest Of All Time!) Would definitely recommend this trip.

For us more mature folk, this hike was definitely a little challenging — but worth every single minute. We began with a 30-minute walk through the rainforest. Extra clothing or layers are definitely needed as this section is quite cold, but it’s incredibly beautiful, and our tour guide shared lots of interesting information along the way. From there, we moved on to the main hike in a truly stunning area. By lunchtime we had reached the top of the mountain, rewarded with breathtaking views and a lovely lunch, which was very welcome after the climb. The next stage took us along a water gully, through tunnels and alongside sheer drops, with views absolutely to die for. The final part of the hike was a scramble up rocks. Thanks to the patience and encouragement of our guide, I managed to make it to the top. It was tough, but completely worth the effort. An unforgettable experience!

Absolutely fabulous hike. Can't fault it at all. Brilliant communication before hand. Picked us up outside our hotel. Gave us a potted history en route. The enchanted forest was a wonderful experience. Take some warm clothes and a jacket as you will be 1000m+ in altitude so its a tad chilly and damp. The main walk was lower down and significantly warmer. I wore long shorts others wore hiking trousers. Best to wear hiking shoes or boots. Take a warm top as well as a t-shirt. Don't for get your suncream and a hat. Most of the hike is relatively easy for an experienced walker but there is a short scramble at the end up to the van. There are some enclosed spaces and precipitous edges so check with the walk lead if you have any phobias relating to these. The views are to die for, its just such a gorgeous area. You will not be short of photo opportunities. The guide is very knowledgeable about the geological history of the area and happy to answer questions. A light lunch is provided. The early pickups may mean you miss breakfast so take a few energy bars if this is the case for you. Drop off was equally efficient. And the tour lead provides a link to all the photos he took for you to download. We absolutely loved the tour. Strongly recommend it.

An excellent day out exploring parts of the Anaga national park we would not have attempted solo. Our guide, Alex, was charming and knowledgeable and at all times safety conscious. The terrain is challenging in places, we hadn’t appreciated walking poles and helmets (supplied by Alex) were essential. I would add a note of caution if you’re claustrophobic or suffer from vertigo.

It is hard to put into words the beauty of the views or the delightfully unexpected nature of the second part of the hike. Alex was a gem - great sense of humor and put everyone at ease while never overlooking the safety and level of comfort of the group on the difficult parts of the hike. There are some physical challenges but the results of the experience and what we saw and felt were totally worth it. The weather can change at any time so go prepared for anything and it will surpass all your expectations. We left with an incredible sense of achievement in the end. Would recommend without question.

Excellent guided walk through the Anaga mountains. Alex was a cheerful and friendly guide, taking our small group of eight walkers to parts of the National Park I would not have found by myself. Decent walking shoes are a must, Alex provided walking poles which were invaluable on some of the steeper sections. Picnic lunch was tasty. I would definitely walk with Alex again, hopefully with a group as fun as the group I had this time.

Pick-up at your hotel for a day of discovery in the Anaga area. Beautiful forest in a mysterious atmosphere, then walk in a green and impressive scenery in the mountains and cliffs...following the old pipe is a unique and very impressive experience, sensations guaranteed! Alex is a perfect guide, takes care of everyone’s well-being, maintains suspense throughout the walk and all in a good mood. Top, top!!
