This was part of an organised day long tour around Hanoi - in fact the last element of the tour. I was quite sceptical at first, however, it turned out to be a charming and well put together show. The crew certainly know the show’s routine very well, with great timing throughout. The accompanying musicians are also very good. Yes it is very touristy, but the show is based on history and old stories, so you (I) have to leave your cynicism at the theatre door and take it for what it is. The theatre was sold out when we went, so clearly it is popular. I’m glad that I went.

We saw a wonderful show at the Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre. It was an authentic and fascinating cultural experience, perfect for discovering a typical Vietnamese tradition. The live music, performed with traditional instruments, creates an immersive atmosphere, while the artists demonstrate great skill in maneuvering the puppets on the water. A fun, original show suitable for all ages. An activity absolutely recommended for those visiting Hanoi!

Very nice show, full of emotions. Possibility to rent audio guides to better understand the paintings. We recommend.

Really excellent. For all ages. No real reason to upgrade to VIP but it was cool to sit close. Music is amazing, puppetry is magical, location and theater are perfect. Make sure to see this… you can’t be disappointed.

We bought the VIP (front row) seats for the family but the operator overbooked the seats and we end up in the middle to back area. I saw some people sitting on the steps. Although the show was good the overbooking took some of the enjoyment away for me. Viator got us a prompt refund for the difference in seat types.

Show itself is very unique, recommended as a cultural experience. Arrangement to get the ticket is messy though, you need to talk to another non ticket office person to get the ticket 5 min before the show. And at the time we got the ticket and get seated the show already started for a few minutes . Also you are paying premium for "skipping the line". Though , it is worth it as it is quite popular and at the time we arrived the theatre the tickets for whole day and next day was almost all gone.

Childish … very unsophisticated. The Music was ok though. As it was only a waste of a few dollars so not the end of the world , but I would waste my time

The show is great. Nice blend of music lighting and puppets. You get to know about local life. Any seat is fine. Don’t chase VIP seats.

Show itself was fine, but certainly not a must see. Recommend only if you have spare time or want a planned 50-min sitting break. Even then, 100% do not recommend booking here - I paid $13 in this app and received tix at the box office with a price printed on them of $5.69. More than 2x the price and I still had to wait to pick up the tickets? I can understand some convenience charge… but that was ridiculous. Overall, could take it or leave it.
