The biggest difference is customization. We change it up as we walk depending on what you tell us. No other tour in Greenville lets you customize every detail. We also know more about modern Greenville, SC, than anyone else in town. Every day our guides read and study more about the area. Crossed Roads Tour guides all grew up in the area. We have special insights that the many tours coming from outside simply cannot have.
And the final difference, is honesty. We'll actually tell you whether a restaurant is good or bad, and whether an activity is worth doing. Even if that means upsetting a particular restaurant or business, we'll give you the truth.

Greenville
Crossed Roads Tours provides the best tour in Greenville, South Carolina, because we customize it for you. No other operator in the area does this. We talk with you about what you want specifically and then change our tour based on that. All of the below events are actually optional. We travel to different areas based on your feedback, and we'll actually ask you during the tour if you're enjoying this particular path or would like to change it.
The Huguenot Mill and Loft is an incredibly beautiful historic building. Expertly maintained, it was originally where the French Protestants created a new life for themselves. They became a huge part of our textile industry, and now you can check out the incredible exterior. (It now serves as private offices and a wedding spot, so we need to remain outside).

Walter was an excellent guide, very courteous and knowledgeable. He reached out in advance to hear what we were most interested in knowing about Greenville. This was our first time in Greenville, and the time with Walter brought a focus to our day.

What a fabulous tour! Walter was a very congenial tour guide who was super responsive to the interests of the group. He gave us a taste of downtown Greenville and lots of recommendations of things to do later. It was great to have a tour guide who actually grew up here and knew the history firsthand.

We met with Walter and we ended up having a private tour. I think we got lucky because of the time of the year. Since it was just the two of us, he asked if there was anything specific that we wanted to do or see on our tour. We told him that since it was our first time in Greenville that we would leave it up to him to show us the things he thought were the most interesting. This ended up being a wise choice because we were able to see a lot of things that most people don’t know about. There were several hidden gems along the way. Because he is originally from the area, Walter was able to share some of his favorite restaurants with us. We had originally planned on having lunch at a restaurant north of the city, but after the tour we had it up going back to Belladina‘s for a New York style pizza, it was absolutely delicious! We highly recommend this tour, especially for newbies to the city of Greenville! It definitely made us want to come back again!

Walter showed us a local, Greenville perspective with history and humor included. We had trouble finding a parking spot. Walter was patient, helpful and kind. He had intelligent answers to all our questions! We highly recommend this 1 Hour Walking Tour. Another aspect we enjoyed was his ability to detail the tour to our interests. We’ll take another tour with Walter when we visit Greenville. Thank you Walter, you made our stay in Greenville, enjoyable.

My husband and I had the pleasure of experiencing Greenville on this walking tour with our guide, Walter. Our group was small which we always prefer; Walter was extremely knowledgeable and personalized the tour based on what we wanted to see and do; our group chose to hear about the history of Greenville; visit local merchants and try some food samples, and even hear a ghost story. We recommend this tour and make it your own....because you can which makes this tour even more enjoyable.

Walter was outstanding as our tour guide. He packed a lot of history into our tour of downtown Greenville in a relaxed and fun way. His knowledge of the area is firsthand from growing up here as well as knowing the historical roots. This tour would be well worth it at twice the price! We would go again for his "places to eat" tour. Well worth your time.

He showed art, architecture and spoke on historical significance of buildings and area development. Very thorough approach to downtown development!
