We booked a private food tour for our group of 9, and our tour guide Marcus, did a fabulous job showing us around Little India, Chinatown and the Middle Eastern area of Singapore. Not only did he share delicious food with us, but he also gave us quite a history lesson on the area. Marcus was also on time, great to communicate with beforehand about our food allergies, and just a very personable and kind person. Took photos of us throughout the tour and sent them to us later. Thank you!

We were very disappointed 3 cultural food tasting. Our tour Guide is Ron C. Upgrade your picture!/ We learned history of people in Singapore how English became a language everyone had to learn. Pointed iconic spots and information. Until this old grandfather started to boss us around and Races comments. NO WAY, if I can rate you ZERO I would!!! We travel to learn cultures, food, and understand what Singapore has to offer!! Having a 3 cultural food tour as Chinese, little Italy and Indian food we had Chinese food all day long. He kept looking at his watch 3 hr tour. We paid for $150.55 USD dollar each and we shared food. And asked us to clean the table where we are about to eat. He drops the paper towel in front of us. Where is your manner, you’re the guide and we are your guest, that annoyed me, excuse me! WTH!!! Manners and your races comment is not justification because we are Asia! You’re a sad story for a Tour Guide! Don’t ever insult a women because I’m different type of Asian and think you are better than me. 15 minutes after we started you annoyed me by disrespecting my culture. You’re not better than me. Such an old Asian culture needs improvement. Word you need to learn is “RESPECT” is the key!! You stated in the beginning of the tour what the reason of learning English in Singapore is to have no misunderstanding because to the languages. You are a “HYPOCRITE” Asian guide, stating that Chinese are better than Indians! You’re a RACES guide!! You showed us the picture of Races comment that you will not see anywhere in Singapore but Indian town. We don’t need to know that, you were proud with a smirk smile on your face. WT…. Grow up, SHAME!! YES, very ethnicity eat with their hands!! And we asked how much is the cost of each dish $4 each, times 10 more or less $40 that’s Singaporean dollars. Omg at the end we have to share one drink and taste is not bearable! It’s not about the money we paid $301 USD it’s the ethics of the tour and disappointed, we are not happy. We are so a shame of your comments and behavior that you display!

We did this food tour as a family on our first trip to Singapore. Guide messaged beforehand to confirm where we wanted to go and any dietary restrictions, I made sure to tell him I was gluten free but was happy to miss out on a few options, I also gave him a list of markets and specific local dishes we wanted to try. However, upon arrival he had ignored all those messages, forgot I had dietary restrictions, and ignored all requests for specific places or restaurants. He clearly does this exact same tour every time and although they offer “customisation” there wasn’t any. He touched every piece of food before handing it to us which may be a cultural thing but was a bit gross. He told a lot of irrelevant long winded stories that turned from food related to completely off topic and made it an unnecessarily long tour. Went from 3hrs to 5hrs because of how much he talked. I specifically asked in person to not take us to the tekka market as I had heard of many people getting food poisoning there, but he fully ignored me and took us there anyway. He ignored most of our questions and just stuck to his prepared script. Overall we had a bad experience and wouldn’t recommend this tour.

I booked this as a Christmas present for my friends during our stay in Singapore and boy did it exceed expectations. John Tan is so knowledgeable about not just Singapore itself but the cultures, food and history. We had a great time exploring three different areas and a wide array of food and drinks. John was friendly but professional and passionate about what he does. Recommend to do this early in the trip as there’s so many tips to carry into the rest of your trip

Highly recommend the private food tour. We visited Malay town, Chinatown and the Indian food area. My family particularly enjoy food but I have a peanut allergy. Roy effortlessly chose places that were suitable. There was ample food and lots of variety. Roy was very pleasant, helpful, accommodating and easy to spend 3 hours with and we learnt a lot about Singapore along the way.

Ron lead us on an authentic tour of Singapore. The tour didn’t just include food tastings but an insight into the history of Singapore and the everyday life of Singaporeans. Our family tour group of 5 ranged from 11 yr old to 75 yr old and Ron managed to relate to each member of our family. He was very accommodating to the more elderly in our group. As well as providing us with tips on how to navigate around Singapore using the MRT. Our whole family thoroughly enjoyed our tour and would highly recommend Ron as a tour guide. Thank you Ron you helped to create some wonderful memories of Singapore for our family.

What a fabulous way to explore Singapore’s culture and food on our first day here. A very knowledgeable and friendly guide who selects delicious food from Malay, Indian and Chinese precincts. I recommend to anyone visiting Singapore. We were also shown how to navigate using the trains which means we can revisit places or travel more widely in confidence over the coming days of our trip.

Compared to our previous food tours, e.g. in Bangkok and Thessaloniki, this one was simply not good in Singapore. It was more circular tour than foot tour.

A fantastic food tour. Great as a fast visit but also as part of a multi day visit to Singapore. Jon our guide adjusted the tour as we needed and gave as us a great sampling of Chinese, Malay and Indian food. Highly recommend doing this tour.
