Welcome to the only place in Montreal that will teach you how to make Montreal bagels!
Montreal bagels are world famous for their shape, taste and texture. A trip to Montreal isn't complete until you've tried one of these amazing bagels. So why not try your hand at making them yourself? We will teach you the secrets on how to make some deliciously unique authentic Montreal style bagels at home, the easy way.
We will start by learning how to properly mix and knead the dough. We will discuss how different flours and water amounts affect the final texture of the dough and crust. I have adapted the best Boulanger (Bread Maker) techniques to the home kitchen. You will become a confident baker at home in no time!
We will go step by step from mixing the dough, letting it rest, to shaping the bagels, to boiling them, dressing them with various toppings, baking them and finally eating them!
This workshop is super hands on so this is far from the "Watch the pro" type workshops out there.

What To Expect
With the help of my beautiful, Interior designer, girlfriend, we have just opened our brand new The Bagel Class Studio! Cozy, heart warming design will make the studio space feel like home. This is meant to be a pleasant experience for everyone so every aspect of the workshop has been carefully designed to appeal.

5.00This was a great activity even if you aren't a cook. The instructor was so fun and made the process very easy. My adult kids joined us and we all loved the class. If you are in Montreal definitely take the time to do this class and the bagels were delicious.

5.00This class is so great we've done it twice! You've got to book this if you're heading to Montreal. The instructor is friendly and funny. The class itself is easy - anyone can do it. The bagels are absolutely delicious - I could eat them all day.

5.00It was a fun atmosphere and Will was very chill! I love his method of teaching. I feel like he was an elementary teacher at some point. He does a check-in to start, making sure he knows where everyone is on the hunger and tired scale. He lets you know if you make a mistake it's alright. He's helpful with the process. I would definitely do it again! It was an enjoyable experience for bakers and non bakers alike. (My own personal peeve- Try as hard as you can not be late. He is not bothered by it, but you have yeast and baking involved, being there on time helps the process along. And just know this is from a person consistently late)
