An inn, or Fonda, was one of the first businesses established on the new plaza during the founding of SF. With the arrival of the SF Trail in 1821, the inn was the preferred lodging for trappers, settlers, travelers, and politicians.
The Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi
Santa Fe means “holy faith” and in 1610 the first church was built on this site and replaced by a larger one in 1630, which was then destroyed following the Pueblo Revolt of 1680. There are 20 bronze plaques on the church doors that depict the history of NM since 1539.

Me and my spouse recently visited Santa Fe and wanted to see the interesting parts of city. This tour met our expectations. The guide educated us about the rich multicultural history and we experienced its vibrant art scene.

We were in Santa Fe for a few days and our local friends suggested this walking tour, for us to see and know more about the city of Santa Fe. We thoroughly enjoyed this walking tour.

It was an experience of the history, culture and traditions of Santa Fe, with credits going to the charismatic tour guide. This tour is ideal for anyone who wants to maximise their time in Santa Fe.

Paul was a great guide. He focused initially on the creation of modern Santa Fe, showed us a lot of historic art and made the whole experience fun. He personally knows a lot of the locals including the indigenous crafts people. He could, therefore, tell us a great deal about current crafting techniques. This local knowledge enabled us to get into places which would otherwise be impossible.

This is an excellent walking tour! Paul is extremely knowledge about Santa Fe, and a very engaging tour leader. He has an extensive knowledge of Santa Fe's past and present -- and our family (including two adult children) had a wonderful time. It really enhanced our visit to have the knowledge of he imparted and our vacation would not have been the same without this tour. Highly recommend!

From the moment we met our charismatic guide, it was clear that we were in for something special. The tour started with a stop at the iconic San Miguel Mission (the oldest church in the United States). By the end of the tour, we felt not only well-informed but also deeply connected to the vibe of Santa Fe.

We were very disappointed in our private history tour. He was a horrible tour guide. We gained very little knowledge and he was more interested in introducing us to vendors he knew. Would not recommend Viator to anyone!

We learned so much about the history of the Pueblo people, Santa Fe, and New Mexico. His lecture at the marker on the Plaza, the old house, and the adobe architecture were highlights.
