The City of York walls are the most unique and complete in the country. They have also seen their fair share of blood with heads spiked on Micklegate bar, a medieval Jewish massacre and cannon fire from the Civil War in 1644.
Join award winning Mad Alice on a gruesome walk on the walls as she highlights some of the tragedies that have taken place on and around the ancient stones.
This 2 hour tour will visit 3 of the 4 gateways as visitors have the option to complete the 2.5 mile circuit with the guidebook given by Mad Alice at the end or wander back to city centre if the truth has become too much to bear.

Absolutely awesome! Five hundred stars! The best tour in all the UK. Great family fun for all ages. Mad Alice really is a professional entertainer. Her knowledge is outstanding. A must to do when in York for the history buff! Well worth the tour fee. Had such a great time we didn’t want it to end.

This was a fun-filled night from start to finish. Lots of laughs but also very infornitave. The woman who was Alice took time to talk to everyone on the tour even remembered our names. The walk was not difficult but sensible footwear is advisable due to the cobbled road. The tour is about an hour and a half but the time flew in as it was so good. If you visit York this is definitely one for your list. We'll done Mad Alice

Humorous, informative and entertaining. Of all the city walks I've done around the UK this must be in the Top One! (That's Alice's sense of humour) You'll come away with a smile on your face and a feeling of "value for money." I gave 5 out of 5 but with a little magic I could have given it seven out of 5. Plus all Coronavirus protocols were actioned Just book it now
