The Deathly Dark Tour of York is a grim and theatrical, dark comedy walking tour, perfect for those who have a bit of a wicked streak and are looking to explore the dark and spooky history of the city with one of our guides, famous for their wonderfully dark sense of humour.
Please note, this is NOT a scare attraction, it is a storytelling experience.
The tour is family friendly, but some may find the stories upsetting. If you have a specific phobia or trigger please reach out to us before booking.
Children must remain with their parent/guardian at all times.
Tour group size is 20-50 people, although this will change depending on the season. Private and small group tours are available on request.

5.00Had an absolutely fantastic time on this ghost tour it was so entertaining informative spooky all in one our host Dante went above and beyond to make us all feel included and spooky the man has a real passion and presence about him can honestly say with Dantes knowledge humour and enthusiasm it made this experience 1000% more enjoyable we will be back again

5.00A very fine spooky tour. Our guide, David, was funny and informative. He told some Great tales and kept everyone’s attention. It is a good bit of walking in the dark depending on time of year but great fun.

5.00First class a very proffesional well run tour - Recommended Absolutely brilliant kooky ( in the best possible way ) tour guide - Daria made the whole experience fun, engaging, and packed with fascinating facts & knowledge. I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting York. The ghost stories were captivating and the atmosphere created was incredible, the 1.5 hours seemed to flyby, 100% worth it - an absolutely terrific experience!

4.00Really good tour! Lots of ghost stories with a bit of humour thrown in! Dalton was a great story teller and was very passionate! It would have been a bit better if the stories were a bit scarier. Some of them felt a bit childish!

5.00Amazing host, so scary but friendly at the same time! Definitely worth doing for all especially considering the price. Suitable for all ages being only 90 minutes. We did the late evening tour and it helps make the whole atmosphere. We had Davina Deathly and she certainly made the tour!
