The Deathly Dark Tour of York is a grim and theatrical, dark comedy walking tour, perfect for those who have a bit of a wicked streak and are looking to explore the dark and spooky history of the city with one of our guides, famous for their wonderfully dark sense of humour.
Please note, this is NOT a scare attraction, it is a storytelling experience.
The tour is family friendly, but some may find the stories upsetting. If you have a specific phobia or trigger please reach out to us before booking.
Children must remain with their parent/guardian at all times.
Tour group size is 20-50 people, although this will change depending on the season. Private and small group tours are available on request.

5.00This was a great “tour”, and Mr. Deathly provided an oscar-worthy performance. All other ghost/spirit tours must pale in comparison. Highly recommend - don’t want to give away too much. You just should book this tour.

5.00We were greeted by the tour guide Dalton Deathly who instantly captured our attention. Charismatic and great story teller of local spooky and grim tales with a dash of comedy. He did well to keep passers by from disrupting the tour whilst keeping the full group engaged and interested. Would definitely recommend!!!!

5.00BEST GHOST TOUR. Myself and my partner where visiting York for my birthday and I have done a few ghost tour of York but it had been a while so I wanted to go again and this tour was hands down the best one I have done. From beginning to end was entertaining, captivating and interesting. Some of the stories I had heard before but not like this, even told us ones we hadn’t heard before. Kept the audience engaged and kept the spooky atmosphere, with a good few laughs in between. It’s great to see a few different part of York as well. I can’t wait to come back. If your in York it’s a must, you won’t be disappointed.
