The Deathly Dark Tour of York is a grim and theatrical, dark comedy walking tour, perfect for those who have a bit of a wicked streak and are looking to explore the dark and spooky history of the city with one of our guides, famous for their wonderfully dark sense of humour.

Please note, this is NOT a scare attraction, it is a storytelling experience.

The tour is family friendly, but some may find the stories frightening. Children must remain with their parent/guardian at all times.

Tour group size is 20-50 people, although this will change depending on the season. Private and small group tours are available on request.

Davina Deathly was a most ghastly tour Guide who put us ill-at-ease from the outset and had us - hair standing on end- scurrying to keep up with her through the dark, damp, cobbled snickleways of York lest we be left to face alone the ghostly apparitions at the heart of her tales. Wrap up warmly because the tales are just as chilling as the winter wind. An excellent way to spend an hour and a half seeing the old city with different eyes and all ghost tales were superbly told.

Absolutely amazing. Great detail and what a performer. So professional too. We had someone interrupt our tour briefly and he dealt with it so professionally and courteously. It was witty and informative and I would highly recommend this tour!

Amazing time! Dalton was knowledgeable and could tell a hell of a ghost story. Definitely would recommend to anyone that loves the darker side of history and a good ghost story.
Will never forget the tour. Excellent.

Dalton was an absolute genius presenter of the guided tour. From the very beginning he was humorous and spoke very Confidently. He made everyone feel welcome with a hint of great sarcasm thrown him which was very well received by all. His local knowledge is exceptional and he delivered his script with great passion. He made me smile and laugh most of the evening. A great character and very talented at his job. 10/10.

Brilliant rainy time, Dalton was a great story teller, kept us all engaged and entertained. Definitely needs to dress for the weather when it started chucking it down. But did not spoil the night lots of fun.

Amazing! We had Daria as our guide, she was great! Made us laugh, whilst also telling us some history and ghost stories of York. Highly recommend for you to do this if you are in York!
