We booked the 8pm with David as our tour guide. He was brilliant, he was incredibly knowledgeable and his delivery was hilarious. What a highlight of our trip to York. I highly recommend even on a cold dark miserable evening!

We had such a great night on the tour - lead by Daria. She was an excellent host and a great performer. The stories were entertaining, and well told. The balance of humour and history was just right, and the way she adapted to the outside elements (other tour groups, members of the public etc) was great. We had a really nice evening and we're glad we turned up despite the weather. The tour was just the right length, relatively flat, obviously the streets are uneven and cobbled, but the walking pace and attention to safety made everything feel manageable for me as someone with a chronic health condition.

What a fantastic tour! Our guide, Dante, was enthralling from the start buzzing with energy and tales of the ghastly and ghostly. Loved everything about this tour.

We had a fantastic time on the Deathly Dark Tour of York! The guide was absolutely brilliant. Engaging, hilarious, and full of energy from start to finish. He added so much humour and drama to the stories, which really brought York’s darker history to life. At the same time, they were incredibly knowledgeable, sharing fascinating details throughout. The tour lasted 90 minutes and covered a surprising amount of ground, but it never felt long or tiring. The time just flew by because we were having so much fun. My daughter absolutely loved it and has already asked if we can do it again the next time we’re in York. which says it all! Highly recommend for anyone visiting York who wants something entertaining, informative, and just a little bit spooky.

My partner booked us on a ghost tour not my type of thing but I went along as she wanted to go...I think I enjoyed it as much as her in the end. The guy was called Dalton and he was funny but gave us some history of the stories and you could tell its more than a job to him and he gets the crowd involved..if you think its not for you give it a go absolutely brilliant

Short review: Tour started from providers office (looks like a shop) at 8:00pm Duration 90 minutes. Tour ends at another location Excellent experience. Professional operator. Talented, highly entertaining guide. Good value for money. I recommend you book with this company. Longer review (and why I ended up with this company and why you should too). A number of tours all start in close proximity to each other. I planned to take a ghost tour with one of the other high profile providers, mainly because their start time of 7-30pm suited me better. Unfortunately I couldn't make a booking on line owing to the date being made unavailable. I think that nights' tour might have been cancelled owing to poor take up ( I went to start meeting point hoping to join the tour and there was no sign of a guide or anyone waiting for their tour). I then went to a neighbouring street fo join a "no need to book, just turn up" guided tour. Four of us turned up, unfortunately the tour guide didn't! So we all ended up on the 8,-00pm tour with this provider. Based on my experience I would recommend you just book with this company. Right from my arrival at their premises (its set up in a shop) i felt like the experience had begun. Booking on the tour was swift and uncomplicated, you can pay by card. It was £12. I was introduced to the tour guide. DEATHLY DAVINA (That might not be her real name) The format for the tour is the group is led round various locations in the old city, stopping periodically at notable locations that include the Minster and the Shambles, where spooky tales relevent to the locations are relayed to the group. Each presentation is approximately 10 minutes or a little longer. I particularly enjoyed the ghost story set in the plague era (no further spoilers), very creepy. Now I realise that description might read a bit uninspiring, but I haven't told you about the best bit yet, our guide, DEATHLY DAVINA. OMG! She is incredible. What an amazing performance, in character for the full one and a half hours, so talented and what a brilliant storyteller. Wonderfully entertaining, she constantly switches between the macabre and the (darkly) humorous effortlessly and without warning. DAVINA'S energy, enthusiasm and talent are what makes this tour so wortwhile. She made it a highly memorable experience for me. Thank you. Highly recommended.

This was the first time that me and my husband did a ghost tour and let’s just say we were not disappointed! Dante was an incredible guide and was so entertaining! We had a few interruptions during the tour but Dante handled them like a pro. This was such an amazing, unique way to explore York and I didn’t want it to end! I definitely recommend this to anyone! When we are back in York we will be doing this again.
