The Deathly Dark Tour of York is a grim and theatrical, dark comedy walking tour, perfect for those who have a bit of a wicked streak and are looking to explore the dark and spooky history of the city with one of our guides, famous for their wonderfully dark sense of humour.
Please note, this is NOT a scare attraction, it is a storytelling experience.
The tour is family friendly, but some may find the stories upsetting. If you have a specific phobia or trigger please reach out to us before booking.
Children must remain with their parent/guardian at all times.
Tour group size is 20-50 people, although this will change depending on the season. Private and small group tours are available on request.

5.00Our tour guide for the 8pm ghost walk on Tues 24th Feb was David…the tour was fascinating, lots of spooky stories that we’ve been revisiting again today as we did another tour of York centre. He had us in absolute stitches - the best fun and we highly recommend - thank you so much :)

5.00The tour with Dalton was not only informative but extremely entertaining. We went on Thursday, 19th February which started at 8:00pm and finished at 9:30pm. The experience was certainly worth the money and would recommend anyone staying in York for a few days to consider booking an evening tour.

5.00We undertook this experience yesterday evening at 9pm. It was brilliant! Our guide was very welcoming right from the start. The meeting point office is very spooky with paraphanalia that he told us about on the tour. We set off promptly and it was brilliant! He told us lots of spooky ghost stories sightings and ghostly history! He was funny and involved the whole group! Some of the tales were incredibly spooky but our teenage son loved it!

5.00We tried to pack so much into our visit to York with our two children aged 10 and 13. We debated not attending the ghost tour due to tiredness but we were so pleased we went as it was the highlight of our trip. The guide, Dalton, was utterly outstanding and immediately put our slightly anxious boys at ease with humour and interesting facts. Having walked the streets of York that day, we were enchanted by the stories which encompassed the snickelways, cobbled streets and landmarks of this beautiful city. We cannot recommend this tour enough for families who wish to bring their children along.

5.00The stories were credible and Dalton was a great and humourus host. I look forward to my constitutional in a few weeks time, doom or death scrolling the time away, whereupon I come across the small face in a window staring back at me. Thankyou for the giggle on a cold, dark February night.
