Tennessee based couple exploring the Great Plains of Canada. First stop Winnipeg and a tour of the Forks. The audio tour was beneficial in understanding the past and the present where the waters join.

This self guided audio tour was very good - you can download it in advance so that you don't have to use data during the tour. Worked smoothly and was very illuminating. Has benefit of being able to stop start to suit coffee breaks etc. As you get close to each point of interest the tour recognises it and delivers commentary for that spot. I also used two other tours of theirs - Assiniboine park, and Winnipeg theatre district - both equally good. good value for money

Situated on bank of Red River, there are information boards on the slope down to the river. The Forks Market was basically a food hall with a few shops. Can't seem to get fresh fruit anywhere except an out of town supermarket.

Very easy to use - clear commentary …. All my questions answered as I strolled along Only criticism - pronunciation of ‘kilometres’ which should rhyme with ‘pillowbeater’ ……. Will take another tour if it warms up again during my visit.

A great way to learn more about the history and the community in this area. Much better than just wandering around. Perfect length in time and distance. The map really helped us keep on track. Highly recommend.
