Winner of Boston Magazine's Best Historical Walking Tour.
A small group, in-depth exploration of Boson's original neighborhoods and a complete retelling of the American Revolution from the founding of Boston to the Declaration of Independence. Unlike most tours which limit themselves exclusively to what's on the Freedom Trail (in whichever order and direction it happens to go) this tour takes a wholistic approach to the city and the story. We follow a curated route visiting 14 iconic landmarks in the same order the history unfolded, pulling everything together into an immersive citywide narrative that recreates the drama and brings to life the passions personalities, and psychologies that invented America.
There are no big crowds or cheesy costumes. This tour combines expert insights with a light-hearted sense of humor and expands beyond "just" the Freedom Trail so you will enjoy the charm of the old town while getting a real sense of the beautiful and booming modern city as well.

Tyler was so informative. His love and knowledge of history was apparent. His visuals such as maps and a binder of art and portraits portraying the events and people he was talking about made everything more personal and real. He even placed little British soldiers and patriots figures on the map when describing the strategic locations during the Battle of Bunker Hill. We appreciated his sense of humor and the way he all drew us. Thanks Tyler!

Mike was our guide and he was great! He was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the events leading up to the Revolution. The way he presented the information, it was like being in our own personal entertaining documentary. I loved it and I would do it again.

A wonderful morning seeing all the Freedom Trails sights with stories that made it come alive. Well paced, and Tyler was a fabulous guide. He explained the history that made it make sense to non-history buffs and those who are, both in our group, gave the tour high marks. Worth the longer tour!

“Let us dare to read, think, speak, and write.” — and walk! This Revolutionary War tour was an absolute win. Mike was the perfect guide—knowledgeable, engaging, and effortlessly fun. Even at 3.5 hours, it flew by without a single dull moment. History has never been this entertaining.

My wife got me this trip for Christmas. I am a graduate student focusing on Colonial American and Revolutionary War history. She did a lot of research and found that this tour was provided by historians that go deeper into the history than the normal walking tours. Mike Wenzke was our guide for this tour and it did not disappoint. He answered all of my questions and challenged me with other questions that made me think. The tour went chronologically through the events leading up to the battle of Bunker Hill. He explained how the Puritan tradition made Boston the only place that the Revolution could have happened and why. He also shed light on the people that participated and their contributions. If you just want to see the sights, any tour can do that, but if you really want to learn than this is the tour for you.
