August 2019, is exactly 400 years after the arrival of the first recorded landing of a slave ship in Virginia, which saw the acceleration of the horrendous Middle Passage, hundreds of descendants of former enslaved Africans will make a triumphant return to the land of our ancestry.
The trip will take us to Ghana: the land of Kwame Nkrumah-the father of Ghana’s independence and a co-founder of the Organization of African Unity; the country where the great pan-Africanist Dr W. E. B. DuBois spent his final years;
The land where Ashanti Kings still hold court and mediate disputes in time-honoured traditions passed down through generations; the land that has preserved more slave dungeons used in the transatlantic slave trade than any other country on the continent. Ghana was the first sub-Saharan African country to gain its independence from Europeans and is today a thriving democracy, yet its traditions, customs and culture are almost undiluted.

I’m speechless! The service that our tour guides, Biney and Kofi, provided are far beyond words can say! I was with a group of 7 people in Ghana and the level of service and detail provided by our tour guides exceeded our expectations by a long shot. They were always on time and would patiently wait on us at our hotel and in the markets while shopping. They carried our bags and negotiated for us to make sure we didn’t pay beyond that of the locals for certain items. They checked us in at all our hotels and venues and even went so far as to check our rooms to make sure that they were up to par. They were able to get us into sold out events and not only that but with VIP service (literally - free bottles of alcohol, tables, and all)! They were very accommodating and didn’t mind that we would change up the schedule for the day. I’ve never had service like this in all my travels. I am even considering visiting countries that I’ve not even had on my radar to visit, just so that I can use them again. I cannot recommend Biney and Kofi enough!! I’m hoping to see them again very soon!! 5 stars isn’t even a high enough rating to give here! You will not regret using them as your tour guides!

Biney is the kindest gentlest soul I've ever encountered. He made my group and I feel at how despite the fact that we were 5000+ miles away from home. From the moment we meet he taught invaluable lessons about life and about Ghana's rich culture and history. If you are traveling to Ghana you have to allow him and his team share their country with you. I can not wait until I have another opportunity to see my brother again.

I truly cannot put into words the experience my group had. We traveled from the US to experience the Year of Return in Ghana this past December 2019, and were absolutely overwhelmed by the loving experience. Biney lead our group throughout the country where we experienced a rich variety of happenings. Biney was patient, loving, attentive to our needs, he made quick adjustments, he paid attention to detail, made sure we were happy, safe and satisfied. One of the things I truly appreciated was that he was very knowledgeable and he built strong relationships with many people who were able to get us into places quickly, get our food delivered with urgency, and he went above and beyond to secure tickets when we heard about other events during our free time. The tour was completely life altering as we were able to go to villages, townships, museums, boat cruises, and so much more. I’m currently on the plane headed to the US but had to make sure I leave a review. Biney and his entire team worked around our timing and was always on time and there when we needed them. Every time! The love we have for Biney is unmeasurable. Truly excited for our next trip with Blemawe Xpo Ghana!

Biney was born for this. Having visited Ghana for the first time and travelling solo, I was a bit apprehensive, but from the moment Biney Yao met me, those feelings subsided. Care, attention to detail, going the extra mile and having fun were all part of this extraordinary experience. I would not hesitate in recommending Blemawe Expo and Biney to anyone, you will not be disappointed. Thank you for making my stay so absolutely awesome and keep up the great work.You are a gift Akosua

Having visited Ghana 2x before, this was my best trip ever, made possible by our guide Nana Yao Biney and supporting staff. My family of 14 and 10 additional travelers combined to a group of 24. We were so well attended to, it didn’t take long to feel as if we were family. Over the 11-day tour through Accra, Kumasi, Duakewe, Cape Coast Dungeons, and other places, the Blemawe Xpo Ghana group made sure we kept to our schedule while enjoying the culture of the country and having a great time. With 5 children under the age of 12, I was a little nervous about how they would manage. They immediately took to Biney and felt safe as we toured the small towns, took bathroom breaks in unfamiliar surroundings, and interacted with vendors. Within hours of our arrival, the kids knew him and the staff by name, and were excited to start all of our tours with him leading the way. The knowledge from the Professor enhanced our trip tremendously, as he seemed to know everything, and was able to supplement additional information at various locations, such as at the Kwame Nkrumah Moseleum, Cape Coast Dungeons, and W.E.B. DuBois museum. Biney was a wealth of information as well, sharing knowledge about the food, vendors, Tro Tro men and also at our tour and discussion of the Asante History. Our guides were ar our side every step of the way, even towards the end of our trip when our flight was delayed. They went above and beyond to ensure we were accommodated with adequate lodging and continued to keep in touch until we had reached our final destinations. I’ve never had a more fulfilling visit to the motherland. In this Year of the Return, I couldn’t have asked for a more sincere, knowledgeable, respectful staff of guides to welcome us, journey with us, instill knowledge in us, and allow us to experience a sense of family from the heritage of which we most likely descended. Two thumbs up go out to the entire staff at Blemawe Xpo Ghana! Thank you for everything!!

When I got to my destination after a 3.5 hour ride in a private car I booked I realized I didn’t have enough Ghanaian money to pay the driver, the first people to greet me and help me pay for my car was them!! I was not expecting it at all!! My trip was shortened due to work but they made it feel like I was there the entire time the rest of my family had been there. Anything I needed they provided with proper knowledge and the best translations that made me more than comfortable! I was in good hands. They made me feel like Queen! I’m so grateful to them for taking care of my family after their flights were canceled and had to stay up to 3 days after they were due to be home. I honored to have met them and to have been under their care!

Never in a million years would I have thought that traveling with 25 people would be executed so perfect on our visit to Ghana! This was an educational/cultural trip for a group from various parts of the states! Our days always started with punctual transportation service with the welcoming smile of Biney and his engaging driver and mechanic! Our tour include visits to (1) the four leading universities in Ghana; (2) market places; (3) the DuBois Centre, the home and final resting place of W.E.B. DuBois; (4) the palace of the Asantehene, the most powerful chief in Ghana; (5) Lake Bosomtwe, a lakeside resort; (6) Bonwire, a kente weaving village; (7) Ntonso, an adinkra printing village; and (8) the village of Agona Duakwa, (9) Cape Coast Castle, and more. We had a fun filled experience for the two weeks we visited! Biney was phenomenal in ensuring that we had the best cultural experience! Our group felt safe and confident to sincerely enjoy our time in Ghana through the leadership of Biney as our tour guide! We had kids in our group from 6 to 16 and Biney made sure they were well taken care of and had just as good of an experience as the adults! I’m sure hosting a group of 25 with so many different needs at times was not the easiest task. However, Biney had the patience of Job and was determined to take full responsibility of our 100% satisfaction! He never stopped smiling and truly went above and beyond to make this the greatest Ghana Excursion ever! We received 125% satisfaction from Biney! Yes! We will indeed return again and wont hesitate calling for Biney to assist! My girls and I have a new addition to the family and will forever remain in debt to Biney for this wonderful experience and new friendship! His work ethic is exceptional! His professionalism and execution style should be the model for the company! Biney can’t be duplicate, but he should definitely be a part of the training of others and include a pay raise!

Recently returned from a study abroad in Ghana with my university. There were 20 students that went and Biney was our tour guide. Biney was by far the best tour guide I’ve ever had. He was sooo knowledgeable about the history, culture, local spots to hit and activities that everyone would enjoy. He worked tirelessly to make our trip an unforgettable one and far exceeded all of our expectations. 24/7 he made us feel safe, comfortable and welcome in Ghana. He never slacked off for even a second and was always watching out for us not just as our tour guide but as a very good friend and he treated us like family. Biney has such a huge heart and having him as your tour guide you won’t just get an amazing trip you’ll get an unforgettable friend! I could not possibly recommend him higher and emphasize how amazing he was, never travel to Ghana without at least meeting him!:)
