What sets the Saigon Walking Tour by Joy Journeys apart is the unique perspective and experience it offers as this is a walking tour with maximum 6 travelers in the group.
Unlike traditional guided tours focused on historical facts, this tour provides an opportunity to connect with Saigon's heart and soul through the eyes of enthusiastic and energetic university students. These young locals, who are soon-to-be professional tour guides, have a genuine passion for sharing their love for Saigon and Vietnam with global travelers.
The tour goes beyond surface-level knowledge and aims to foster cultural exchange and create memorable experiences. It allows participants to engage in casual conversations, ask questions, and delve into the personal stories, local insights, and recommendations of university students. Through their narratives, visitors gain a vivid picture of Saigon's beauty, traditions, and way of life, making the tour an authentic and immersive experience.

Built in the late 19th century, the cathedral's architecture is inspired by the French Gothic style, with its iconic twin bell towers standing at a height of 58 meters. The building's red brick exterior is decorated with intricate stone carvings and stained-glass windows. Despite being a popular tourist attraction and a place of worship for local Catholics, the cathedral has faced challenges in recent years due to structural deterioration and pollution, requiring ongoing renovation and preservation efforts. This was a good and enjoyable tour, and a nice way to explore parts of Saigon that most visitors don’t usually see. Our guide, Lily, was friendly and made a real effort to ensure we understood everything. The tour includes interesting spots, that allowed us to have a great look into everyday life in Saigon. Just keep in mind that this experience involves some walking, so it’s best suited for those who are comfortable moving around on foot. Overall, a pleasant and insightful way to see a more authentic side of the city.

We did this tour with Lucy (Qui) and it was wonderful. She showed us all the key places in District 1 and 3 and gave us good insights into the history by showing images as well. But the best part was her lovely, caring nature as we were walking around, making sure we were safe and even finding a toilet when we needed one in an emergency. We had a short lesson on learning some Vietnamese language while we sat in the park to have coffee. I highly recommend this though to get your bearings in HCMC and to learn what you want to come back and visit in more detail. Jenni & Brad

Our guide Lucy was excellent and guided us through all the notable landmarks of Ho Chi Minh City in a little over 3 hours, which we were grateful for considering the blazing heat.
