A professional English speaking tour guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to the
killing fields of Choeung Ek Genocide Center – 9 miles away south of Phnom Penh. The infamous killing fields have a bloody history. Once an orchard and a
Chinese cemetery, the Khmer Rouge, lead by Pol Pot, turned the place into
what became known as the killing fields, where they executed around 20.000 victim. Over three years they massacred and
buried 2.5 million people. After remembering the dead, return to Phnom Penh to visit Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S21). Meaning hill of the poisonous trees, Pol Pot turned a once popular
high school into a high security prison. 20,000 people were imprisoned
there, many of whom were tortured for information. Today it serves as a
museum and a reminder of darker days.

Our guide today was Mr Cheath He passed on his knowledge to the group in a honest manner . Which i appreciated . The tour was insightful emontional and very humbling. I was taken aback at how many were killed and what was dome to them . Clearly humans have not learnt from the this ie Palastine and Israel . I give this tour a 10 out 10 and thank you Mr Cheath

Sun Cheath was a fantastic guide and leader on this very moving and educational tour. On the bus before we reached the fields, he gave us the history bhind it and even these stories were moving too. It's a tour not to be missed if you are in PP and highly recommended.

Unfortunately I would say this was quite a superficial tour. The guide didn't go into much detail. My husband asked him a question at rhe start and he didn't respond he just carried on using his phone and said "yes". He didn't allow for any questions either, if I asked I felt like i was disturbing him Also you should mention to bring extra cash for us to tip the survivors, alot of us had no spare change. For those considering an alternative, get a tuktuk on grab and pay extra for the audio.

This was a powerful and moving experience. Be prepared for many emotions as you learn details from this dark time in history. Our guide, Moon, shared her and her family’s personal experiences with the genocide and helped us to better understand Cambodian society’s longing for peace. Very important tour for visiting Cambodia.
