A professional English speaking tour guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to the
killing fields of Choeung Ek Genocide Center – 9 miles away south of Phnom Penh. The infamous killing fields have a bloody history. Once an orchard and a
Chinese cemetery, the Khmer Rouge, lead by Pol Pot, turned the place into
what became known as the killing fields, where they executed around 20.000 victim. Over three years they massacred and
buried 2.5 million people. After remembering the dead, return to Phnom Penh to visit Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S21). Meaning hill of the poisonous trees, Pol Pot turned a once popular
high school into a high security prison. 20,000 people were imprisoned
there, many of whom were tortured for information. Today it serves as a
museum and a reminder of darker days.

Sun Cheath was an excellent guide for my visit to the Killing Fields. We had a small group and were given a guided tour around both the Killing Fields and S-21 museum by Mr Cheath, as well as time to explore both at our own pace. He was knowledgeable and spoke very good English. The whole experience is a deeply somber one but is definitely something I would recommend if you are in Phnom Penh.

Sum Cheath was an amazing guide! We learned so much about the history of Cambodia on this tour. I’d highly recommend taking a guide as you’ll get to hear first hand about the atrocities and ask questions. Thanks again, Sum!

Very informative tour. Some heavy and hard information to listen to, but important to learn history.

I must admit I wasn't sure I was that familiar with the history of Cambodia. The atrocities committed during a time not that long ago and the resilience of a country trying to heal. This is not going to be a cheerful tour, it was incredibly difficult to see, but it is important for us to learn it. Our guide, Cheath, has been amazing. His passion clearly shone through.

An excellent tour with a very knowledgeable guide. The information was presented at a good pace and free time allowed adequate exploration of each site. Hotel pick-up was great, vehicle clean and air con and ice cold water provided. Highly recommend.

It’s a must go in Phnom Penh. It made me think and learn a lot. The tour guide Sum CHEATH was very informative. It could have been difficult to learn so much without a guide.

A must visit for anyone interested in Kampuchea's (quite recent) history. Mr. Sun Cheath was an excellent guide, and he included details - personal and answered questions - you would not get with the audio tour at the Genocide Museum or Killing Fields. We were promptly picked up and returned to our respective hotels with restaurant recommendations. It's hard stuff, but it's important.
