This was a fun experience. We took our 3 year old and 6 year old and it was just fine for them. It’s a short walk in the tunnel, with some uneven surfaces and stairs. We were running a little late so I messaged the tour operator and they responded right away. Great customer service, very knowledgeable guide, and overall a great experience. There is also plenty of parking at the facility and the check in process was quick and easy.

Great experience to visit a lava tube. Do need sturdy shoes and waterproof jacket to go in. Not as cold as expected, beanie and gloves are optional. The guide will turn off all lights at the end of the tour further inside to demonstrate the complete darkness for 3 or 4 mins which may be better to mention earlier. The track will have rocks and metal stairs up and down.

Really interesting. Our guide Benjamin was very knowledgeable and had a good sense of humor. Took around an hour, accompanied in and then could walk back out at own pace which was nice for taking photos

Lava tube is great. Large. Well lit. Parts of the walk are on uneven surface, but it is not difficult. Do be prepared for wet surfaces.

Such a cool experience. Our guide was very knowledgeable and let us explore without rushing us. The ice in the tunnel was the coolest. Definitely worth the money.

A unique sight and well worth the visit, especially as so close to Reykjavik. The tour/entrance fee is steep, but if it goes to maintaining the site, it's a good cause (who owns, leases, maintains and runs the site is complicated...). Our guide, Juan (all the way from Argentina) was jolly, knowledgeable and a pleasure to talk to and although the tour is only an hour long, he didn't herd us out, but patiently waited for everyone to take photos (worth taking in the sights on way in and only taking pictures coming out) and marvel at every bit. If the conditions are wintery, there's snow and ice on way in and ice columns (similar to stalagmites) can be seen - magical and unexpected! Dress warm, wear proper shoes and be prepared for uneven surfaces - as well as a minute of mindfulness in total darkness!

Booked advance tour 3-4 hours. My spouse had hiking shoes(just up to ankle bone) was told we couldn’t go on advance tour because of it but told we could go on regular one hour tour and difference would be refunded difference. Waiting to see if refund of difference does come in. Guide was friendly but didn’t know much of the history behind it when asked slightly more in depth questions
