Before your hike to Mount Ijen, please be informed that all hikers are required to present a medical certificate from a doctor, confirming that you are in good health and fit for hiking. This is a mandatory safety requirement set by the Mount Ijen authorities.
Medical Certificate Requirements:
- Issued by an official healthcare provider (clinic, public health center, hospital, or licensed doctor)
- States that you are in good health and physically fit for hiking activities
- Should be issued within 1 day prior to the hike (preferably recent)
We highly recommend that you prepare this certificate before your hike. If you haven’t obtained one yet, we can help arrange a visit to the nearest clinic for a quick medical check-up.

What To Expect
During the Ijen Trekking experience, travelers will hike under the stars to reach the crater of Mount Ijen, starting just after midnight. The 1.5–2 hour trek leads to a stunning view of the rare blue fire phenomenon and a breathtaking sunrise over the turquoise acidic crater lake. Along the way, guests will also witness the daily life of traditional sulfur miners before descending and returning to the base for a light refreshment.

5.00I did the trip to mount ijen from uluwatu, and the taxi driver and our guide nunu were the best! Nunu was so kind and helpful, guiding us all the way to the peak of the volcano! He made us laugh and took lots of amazing photos of my friend and I. He was such a lovely guy and took us into the blue flames multiple times to try and get photos; which turned out amazing! We felt so safe with him. I would 100% recommend doing this trip in Indonesia, and especially with Nunu.
A beautiful and unique experience! It's worth the effort.

5.00This trip was simply indescribable! It is a long journey, you should not underestimate that but it is worth it! Our driver (Vico) who drove us in Bali to the port and back was super nice and polite. We had a lot of fun with him. When we arrived in Java with the guide, our guide Nunu already received us. We couldn't have imagined a better guide! He was super funny, a good-hearted person and we climbed the volcano together really quickly. During the descent into the crater he always took care of us and made sure that we healed to the blue flames and back up again. Afterwards he led us to the most beautiful sunrise place and during this time took very nice pictures and videos of us! At the end after a delicious breakfast he showed us a self-made cut of all the videos, which is soo beautiful! A perfect reminder of this experience! Thank you Nunu!

Travelling from Ubud to Mount Ijen in the evening and directly back in the morning was hard, but everything was super organized and the hike up the mountain and down to the bluefire was really great. Super tour guide, really helpful and communicative. We recommend doing this tour!

Our guide, Mufidah also is very kind, we went up to the volcano , we saw de blue fire and enjoyed a beautiful sunrise. Is a bit hard the hiking but is really worth it! Thanks team !

5.00I went on this trip by myself which I was slightly nervous for as it was an overnight trip, but was met with the friendliest staff. Mufi was my guide and I loved her. Both her knowledge of the area as well as just our casual conversation was super special and made my experience phenomenal. Not once did I feel nervous about my safety on the hike because of her and everything was totally worth it. The blue fire, the lake, and sunrise was definitely once in a lifetime which she was willing to take as many pictures as I needed. Its definitely strenuous if you’re not relatively fit, but Mufi was willing to go at any pace and encouraged not only me but other hikers along the way. There are also ways to get up without having to actually hike it (but i feel its worth it to hike it yourself). It is actually very cold on the climb so wear warm clothes… I was surprised and had to rent a jacket and pants. Komang was my driver from Ubud to the ferry and helped me get on to the actual boat when it was super late at night and I had no idea how to do anything haha. Him and his team were amazing at scheduling and accommodating me so smoothly, I never had to worry or wait for anything. They were also very easy to get ahold of and speak to. Its definitely a long and late night, but they made everything easy and memorable for me. This is a private tour so they can pick you up from anywhere and give you a one on one experience thats super special. Highly recommend both of them and this trip!!
