The Narrows is an iconic hike in Zion National Park. We will be hiking from the Temple of Sinawava along the riverside walk, then into the Virgin River for approximately 2 miles upstream. The towering cliffs, handing gardens, and springs provide excellent photo opportunities. We will hike as far as the Orderville Canyon, before returning along the same route to the Temple of Sinawava. Though there is not much elevation gain on this hike, it is challenging to forge upstream while navigating large submerged river stones. We will enjoy a charcuterie board picnic on the beautiful grassy lawn of the Zion Lodge.

DJ was an amazing guide. Our party was me (57), my husband (56) and my mom (77). DJ let my mom hang onto his arm for the water crossings and he was able to show us the safest and easiest ways. Thanks DJ for an amazing day!

Fantastic tour with Moi of Cedar & Sage. Knowledgeable about the area, rock formations and the park. Provided the appropriate equipment and was patient as we learned to navigate the terrain. Would recommend their tour.

We had an amazing experience at the National Narrow National Park! Michael was an incredible guide — so friendly and knowledgeable, and he made the tour really enjoyable. Lunch was included, and the setup was beautiful. Highly recommend!

We took this tour in July 2025 - 2 adults, 2 teens. It was definitely a strenuous hike mainly due to the rocks you are walking on for the 4 miles in the water. The water was cold, but the highest it ever got was waist deep and that was for a small part. I would not do this tour without the boots/socks and poles. Our guide gave us each two poles, which felt like overkill at the beginning, was not overkill at all on the hike due to the terrain! As a 50 year old female, if I was doing it again, I would only go half way on the 4 miles that is in the water. But I am proud that I managed to complete the whole 6 miles. Michael was our guide and he was great. I felt very safe being with him. Our teens were a little unsure of the charcuterie lunch, but they did enjoy it. Would definitely use Cedar & Sage again.

Our experience started at 7:00 am. At that moment, we geared up with water, snacks, canyoning boots, and walking sticks. Afterwards, we gathered the shuttle that would transport us to the most amazing journey of our vacations. After the shuttle transported us to our stop, we walked up the trail to the Virgin River Canyon. Once we got to the river entrance, we got immersed into the beautiful scenery and the colors of the canyon. Our early start helped us avoid the hot temperatures of an August summer day as well the crowds. I cannot explain in a few words the views, the colors, the awe struck scenery and the beauty of the Narrows. The gear that was provided was helpful to complete our journey safely and enjoyable. But this amazing journey would be impossible to complete without our guide Moises. He was kind to show us all the details of the canyon, from the intricacies of the red sandstone, to the interactions of the sunlight, the sandstone and the river. Moises was also attentive to our needs and at the right moment, gave us a charcuterie lunch stop at the most stunning spot of the trail. His personalized guide and stories of the canyon made the journey an amazing and awesome experience. Definitely follow the instructions sent prior to the tour. They will definitely help you have a wonderful experience. I would not hesitate to go back with them once again.
