What To Expect
Province of Guanacaste
Get ready to experience the most complete craft beer tasting tour in Costa Rica, and immerse yourself in our beer and beach culture. Try some of the finest locally crafted beer and experience ‘pura vida’ like a local. Visit three local craft breweries located in the most popular beaches and towns of Guanacaste. Breweries vary based on pickup location. Taste between fruity pale ales, dark coffee or chocolate stouts, ginger beer, and traditional IPAs. Guests will try up to 12 styles of beers, learn about the local area, and beer culture. All you need to do is enjoy the beer. Meet the brew masters, tour the brewery, and end the day with a sunset on the beach (literally) – Great picture moment! Final stop is at a beachfront brewery and restaurant where guests can enjoy an evening meal and listen to live music. By the end of this experience, you will feel like a local (and probably a brew master), but most importantly you will know what it is to live ‘pura vida’ in Costa Rica.
What‘s Included
Soda/Pop
Guest will receive 3 full tastings. One per brewery (tasting up to 12 styles of beer). Water and pop soda will also be available during the experience.
Bottled water
Salty snacks will be available throughout the experience.
Tickets for brewery tour and tastings (three tickets total)
$20 per person for pickup from Tamarindo, Langosta, Conchal, Flamingo, Las Catalinas. & Riu Hotels
Limousine not available for groups of 6 or less people. Standard vehicle will be used.
$29 Fee per person for pickup from Hacienda Penilla

5.00Phenomenal experience. Ian was a great guide and became a friend by the end. So much information about the culture of Costa Rica and of course the beer brewing processes and each brewery’s special stories. It felt more like just driving around with a longtime friend and enjoying the pura vida lifestyle. Only wish we did some of the other tours they offered and got to hang out more. Ian and Patsy, we would be happy to show you our San francisco if you ever come up here. Truly, thank you for making my birthday trip something special.

5.00Fantastic Craft Beer Tour!! Ian and Patsy were the perfect hosts for this tour that encompassed three very different breweries near our base in Playa Hermosa. We (tour was just for my wife and I) got to try around 12 beers, and also some excellent cider and chilliguaro, and Monkey Head brewery in particular was like no brewery/taproom I'd visited before! Communications were also excellent, the transport was awesome, and the hosts just so friendly and informative. I would highly recommend

During our drive, Ian shared a ton of information about Costa Rica - it was well beyond a craft brewery tour! Our group of 4 were so happy we did the tour and Ian made it well worth our time. We highly recommend this tour!

5.00If you like craft beer, this is the tour for you. We visited three microbreweries (Nūmu, Monkey Head, and Potrero) from the very modern to the very rustic. The offerings covered a variety of styles from sours and ciders to a very good vanilla stout. I thought the beer was fantastic at all three places, and the cost was worth the experience. I was concerned my wife and my friend's wife would not enjoy the experience, but our tour guide, Ian Jimenez, made that impossible. He was so knowledgeable and engaging and made a huge effort to to ensure everyone in the group had a great time. He allowed us to take photographs of a troop of Howler Monkeys between stops and stopped at an awesome spot on the way back to our resort to take sunset photos. Thanks Ian! You made the experience so much better.

5.00This craft beer tour was truly the highlight of our time in Costa Rica! Ian and Patsy were fantastic guides - personable, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. They were exactly the kind of guides that you hope for and their vibe made the day both engaging and relaxed. Their passion for craft beer and the local scene really came through, and they created a welcoming atmosphere from they picked us up. The logistics were seamless, allowing us to fully enjoy the variety of brewery experiences, including behind-the-scenes tours that gave great insight into Costa Rican brewing specifics. The hospitality throughout the tour was exceptional, and after drinking Imperial, it was so refreshing to enjoy a hoppy IPA again! We will absolutely be back for more tours with CR Limo & Travel Company and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend these experiences to anyone visiting Costa Rica who appreciates great beer and great company.
