Founded in 2012, we are the original Harry Potter tour in Edinburgh. Our guides have the most experience of any tour company in Edinburgh and we are consistently rated most highly by visitors across all platforms.
Booking a private tour with us will ensure the ultimate experience for Harry Potter fans as you'll be able to take the tour at your own pace and ask as many questions as you like!
All of guides are trained comic performers so we can guarantee they will captivate and entertain you as well as impress with their extensive knowledge.
We are also happy to customise this tour to suit you! We take on lots of bookings for hen parties and school groups and our guides are skilled at catering the tour content for any audience.

What To Expect
Greyfriars
We begin our tour in the city's historic Greyfriars Kirkyard where JK Rowling spent a lot of time while writing the books. Here we'll see several names on gravestones that inspired characters in the series including William McGonagall and Thomas Riddell. From here we will also see two potential inspirations for Hogwarts in the form of George Heriot's School and Edinburgh Castle.
An area of the city named after Harry Potter? Surely not! See the place where she wrote much of the first book from here.

5.00This tour met my high expectations. As a long time, passionate Potter fan (since I was 6 now 28) who has been to Warner Bros. Studios, Universal Studios and EPIC Universe Harry Potter I left feeling satisfied, educated and happy to be in good relatable company. High quality, bit of humour, friendly competition, interactive, well spoken and interesting tour I would recommend to anyone (fan or not). Friendly tour guide “Caroline” was lovely and approachable. I found myself grinning through the cold and rain which I can’t say about much else in those conditions! May return with my own wand in hand in future 👀 (recommend bringing one)

5.00We had the best time on the Potter Trail tour with Mel. She was so engaging and had so much knowledge to share!! I was kind of expecting the tour to be about the films but it was about the books and the inspiration for the books which was awesome. I learnt so many new things. So fun!!

5.00Very nice trip with Christine yesterday. We've really enjoyed her stories and would recommend this trip to anyone interested in HP and the franchise ties to the city of Edinburgh. Especially loved her way of handling the city's traffic :) Don't want to spoil it, but we will definitely try it out back in Warsaw :)

5.00Absolutely amazing. Caroline is an amazing guide with sooo much knowledge not just about Harry Potter but Edinburgh itself. Me and my daughter had so much fun in just 90 mins sightseeing and taking in the knowledge she had. If you are looking for something to do whilst is in edinburgh and your potter heads like us then this is it!
