Fun tour of Kyoto

Adrian, our guide led our tour of Kyoto. We visited a number of shrines and walked through many street markets. We asked Adrian if we could visit areas away from the city and he took us to a beautiful bamboo forest. Adrian’s knowledge of Kyoto and its history was impressive. He was a lot of fun to be with and did a great job of taking us to sites in Kyoto we would not have found on our own. Highly recommend this tour.

Our guide, Paco, was a nice graduate student from Spain, but we really didn't learn a lot about the places we saw. He had a fairly thick thick english accent which made it a little hard to understand. It was a very rainy day, which made it little hard to enjoy. We were really hoping for someone who was more of a true local who could give us more in depth information what we were seeing and give us more fun facts. We felt like we could have gone to these places ourselves.

Our family (2 adults and 3 kids ages 18, 15 & 12) had a great tour! Not only did we see the "sites," but we learned a lot about Japanese culture. We also appreciated that our guide showed us how to use public transportation.
