  Chris is an awesome tour guide. He’s very informative. He’s punctual and he’s very efficient. He would keep things going without rushing us and he would go out of his way to accommodate any needs or even just to fetch coffees so we don’t waste time with those little things. We would ask for him again the next time we are in York!

• A wonderful tour of 'All Creatures' country

  Chris did a great job showing us around the countryside. We had only four people on our tour, which was great. Besides the All Creatures areas, we also toured the Ripon Cathedral, walked around a sheep pasture, and had a brief look at the only castle in Britain never owned by the royal family. As to All Creatures, we toured the Herriott museum in Thirsk, which had great exhibits. We stopped in Grassington (exteriors for Skeldale House and the Drovers Arms), and had lunch at the Devonshire pub. Filming for the series had occurred the day before our visit, so the Drovers Arms sign was still up on the building. We also visited the church where James and Helen married, along with the Heston Grange farm. This is a full day tour, and is a little expensive, but my wife and I were very satisfied. Chris was very knowledgeable about the area and answered a lot of questions. Definitely a fun trip!

  It was a fantastic small group tour with a wonderful guide named Pete. We had plenty of time to see the sights and the flexibility to linger at places we especially enjoyed. The emphasis on the “All Creatures Great and Small” experience was welcome, but the scenery holds its own, regardless of your level of interest.

  Outstanding visit to land of "All creatures great and small! Pete did marvelous job narrating visits at all the key sites and while underway. It was truly an ⁸excellent learning experience. He is a gem - extremely helpful to us old timers and other guests.

  It was a beautiful day in the Dales. Our tour guide, Chris, did an amazing job. He was able to take us on small roads that larger tours could not reach. His knowledge of everything Yorkshire Dales and All Creatures Great and Small really added to the experience. I would put it in the top ten of tours we have taken and would heartily recommend it anyone.

  The Dales are magic especially for fans of All Creatures Great and Small. Herriot’s surgery in Thirsk is a delight and the cathedral in Ripon is not to be missed. Chris’s small group tour allows you to use narrow lanes and byways inaccessible to larger vehicles. His knowledge of the origins of Yorkshire’s strange place names is a delightful addition to the spectacular scenery. The highlight is a visit to Grassington which is the village of Darrowby in the Herriot series and a wonderful lunch at the Drover’s Arms.

  We had a absolute great day with Chris in our Yorkshire Dales trip. The van was very comfortable and we saw so much in our 8+ hours. The beauty and history were beyond great. We even had a chance to do a small hike through the fields. Wonderful experience.

  Excellent way to see it all! You see all things “All Creatures Great and Small” of the real world and the two shows, plus other places and even a mini hike option where you get to scramble around or over stone fences whilst undergoing the baleful gaze of ewes and lambs! We had perfect blue skies which only heightened the experience. Very informative; does bit have a touristy feel - and i am not at all a group tour person but without a car this is the only way to see the dales. Chris is a regular guy and not the slick rote touristy type of guide. 8+ hour day so be prepared for that. Nice van but due to the roads and necessary speed it can feel a bit jerky snd lurching at times.   Wonderful! Small group tour. Kind, informative guide. Our guide made sure that each individual was comfortable and safe. He asked if we had specific requests, and worked those in as he was able. An overall pleasurable experience.
