We had the most amazing day with our local guide. She was so knowledgeable and entertaining. Lunch was fantastic. Tivoli was nothing short of fantastic! Make sure the fountains are on. We got lucky and it was amazing!

They should know that this trip requires a lot of walking uphill and stairs with no handrails. Lots of stairs at Villa d'Este

This tour takes a full day. If it a hot day be prepared because you will be in the sun. We did this tour in late May and i came away with new bronze skin color. The temp was fine in the shade, but you felt the heat in the sun. That being said the palace grounds and ruins are worth it. Amazing history. We traveled a short distance from there to the villa. We had lunch in Tivoli before entering the grounds. Eat at one of the many restaurants. When you finally enter the Villa, you might want to run through the residence as quickly as you can to maximize your time in the gardens. There is so much to see and so little time. We stayed with the tour guide and realized too late that we wanted more time in the gardens. Get lost out there and try to see as much as you can. Lots of steps and getting out in time to meet your group will be a challenge. The waterfalls, the views, the many fountains, all amazing! Safe travels.

Lovely tour of both gardens a must do when in Rome, our guide was great. Took us on slow walk for the older people, not to much info which was good, our bus driver was great too, easy tour and lots to see.
