A course that runs through the castle town, centering on Mt. Take the ropeway from the Awa Odori Kaikan at the foot of Mt. Meishan, which has become a novel and a movie. From there, take a break downhill and take a break at Western Park on the middle of Mt. If you go down from the middle to the foot, you might want to try eating around, such as Mt. In principle, reservations are for two persons or more. Meet your navigator at the meeting point and then head towards the Bizan area on a BROMPTON bicycle. Mt. Bizan offers a superb view of Tokushima City, the mouth of the Yoshino River, and if the weather is fine, you can see all the way to Awaji Island and the Kii Peninsula on Honshu. On this trip, you take your Brompton bicycles up Mt. Bizan in the cable car with you. After admiring the amazing view and checking out the pagoda, you cruise back down the mountain. You can take a break in Seibu Park half way down, a spot that’s known for its cherry blossoms in season. Around the base of the mountain are several good places to eat local specialties such as Tokushima ramen and grilled mochi. Your guide will take you somewhere that fits your mood and preferences. Down in the city, you ride along the back alleys, exploring the temple quarter. Your guide will point out the reminders of this castle town, and the places where stages are set up for Awa Odori dance. After your Brompton tour of the city, it’s fascinating to visit the Tokushima Castle Museum and see what the route you’ve just cycled was like hundreds of years ago.

We booked this tour for when our cruise ship docked in Matsuyama and had a great time slowly riding around the city of bicycle paths and quiet back streets. Going up Mt. BIizen in the cable car (ropeway) with the bikes in bags and then speeding down from the top was brilliant. Our guide, Takashi, was excellent. He was patient and went at an appropriate pace for the group. He also gave us many stops and clearly explained things as we went along. All-in-all a great day of and way of getting some exercise off the ship. Highly recommended for anyone with a spirit of adventure.

Takashi did a wonderful job with us and the bikes. His English was good, he explained what we were doing very well at all points. The pace on the bikes was just right, and the territory we covered was very interesting. The bikes were very cool and in good condition.

This Brompton Bicycle Tour was a highlight of our trip so far. We enjoyed our great guides Murphy and Mya as they took such great care of us from the time they sent very informative emails as to how to navigate the train in order to meet up, to when they escorted us back to the train station for our return to the cruise ship via the train. Their focus on safety assured a fun trip as we descended the mountain and traversed the city was comforting. We stopped long the way for tea, visits to Shrines, Temples, a local artist shop, and for a fantastic lunch in the city. I would highly recommend this excursion as it got us away from the crowds and afforded us time to explore the local community with knowledgeable guides.
