Tokyo is where you can experience both modern and traditional, and your experienced private guide will help you efficiently enjoy a full day in this dynamic Japanese capital. Let us know what you would like to experience, and we will customize a six-hour tour that's best for you!

Asakusa
Asakusa (浅草) is the center of Tokyo's shitamachi (literally "low city"), one of Tokyo's districts, where an atmosphere of the Tokyo of past decades survives. Asakusa's main attraction is Sensoji, a very popular Buddhist temple, built in the 7th century. The temple is approached via the Nakamise, a shopping street that has been providing temple visitors with a variety of traditional, local snacks and tourist souvenirs for centuries.
Imperial Palace
**This tour does not include access to the inside of the Imperial Palace** The current Imperial Palace is located on the former site of Edo Castle, a large park area surrounded by moats and massive stone walls in the center of Tokyo, a short walk from Tokyo Station. It is the residence of Japan's Imperial Family. Edo Castle used to be the seat of the Tokugawa shogun who ruled Japan from 1603 until 1867. In 1868, the shogunate was overthrown, and the country's capital and imperial residence were moved from Kyoto to Tokyo. In 1888 construction of a new Imperial Palace was completed. The palace was once destroyed during World War Two, and rebuilt in the same style, afterwards.

Have your best walking shoes on. You will cover a lot of ground. Seiji was my guide for the day and was terrific. He clearly knows his country as well as Tokyo. Had answers for my variety of questions. Great day.

So much to see and do in Tokyo. We felt totally safe everywhere we went. Our guide "Show" was a superb communicater and quite knowledgeable. After the first several hours it was if he was reading our minds as to all the places that we would find interesting and fascinating to visit!!!!

Koba was a fantastic guide. He met us promptly at the assigned place and time. It is a 6 hour walking tour. (18,000 steps). If there are any mobility issues consider renting a car. We saw a lot of the Tokyo subway stations. Give consideration to what you want to see. There is a garden at the Imperial Palace so no need to see another one. Unless you really like gardens an/or flowers are in bloom. In late October not so much. Koba gave very good explanations and accommodated our needs.

Izumi was an excellent host and guide, who willingly shared his knowledge and history of the various sites we visited. He answered every question I had, and made the entire tour a pleasant experience

Our guide Izumi was friendly and patient with our group of five. Izumi knew a lot about our three stops and took time with each of us talking while we toured. I especially liked that Izumi took time helping my mother find elevators instead of steps.
