If you are a foodie and you miss this tour with Rio, you will miss one of the best food experiences of your life. We dined on a variety of authentic Japanese foods, sake and beer as Rio took us to the hidden gems of of Tokyo. We plan to take this tour again during our next visit.

This is an experience that should be enjoyed by all Foodies. Our guide Ryo hand selected each location for the delicacies that they served & their history. You are not just taken to a restaurant & fed, you are guided there with a history lesson & a story of the owners & their dreams. Ryo gave us our 1st lesson in the proper way to eat Sushi to maximize its flavor & pair it with Saki, at Tsukiji Mottainai Project Uoharu. The Nigiri was served as Art & each bite exquisite. Our next stop was Osaka Yakiniku for organ meat cooked table side Hibachi. Ryo knowledge of how to eat each piece & when to enhance with which sauce, took each slice to a higher level. We finished our evening at Ginza Karin. The young female Proprietor has created a little gem, hand selecting all products served & always on a search for unique Saki’s to pair with it. Every dish is created fresh daily with an ever moving menu. She will be a force to be reckoned with in the food industry for years to come. None of our experience would have happened without the research, knowledge & passion put in by our guide Ryo. He is greeted with respect by each owner who appreciate his passion for food & care he gives his clients. We had the best food experience of our lives last night & will be forever grateful that Ryo was our guide.

We had an excellent food tour with Ryo tonight. We thoroughly enjoyed sampling the food and sake from the three different out of the way places we visited. This is more than a food tour. Ryo guided us through the history and customs behind Japanese food giving us some insight into Japanese culture and cuisine. This was a memorable experience and we highly recommend Ryo’s food tour.

This was a fantastic food experience for us (husband and me). Ryo, our foodie tour guide, was extremely knowledgeable about the local food in the Ginza area. We would not have discovered the restaurants that we visited if left to our own devices. We would also not have heard the stories about the restaurants or the chefs. Ryo was super friendly and engaging ( and takes great photos!) We were very grateful for his list of recommended restaurants. I only wish we did this tour at the start of our stay in Tokyo instead of towards the end as we only got to one of his recommendations (best Udon noodles I have had!) This is a tour to put on your 'to do' list for sure. (Photos taken by Ryo).

Amazing food tour! You have to book it! Ryo is so much fun and knows his Japanese food. Everything we tried was delicious or 'oishii'! We learnt a lot about food in Tokyo and he even had recommendations for dishes and places to try outside of Tokyo as we are travelling around a bit.

If you’re considering a food tour, please book this one!!! This was by far the biggest highlight of our Tokyo leg of Japan. Ryo is incredibly kind, fun, knowledgeable and generous as a guide (and now friend!). We spent an entire evening with him on a private food tour, walking around Ginza and trying foods we never would have ordered or known about as British tourists! He took us to restaurants that aren’t open to public/tourists so we could really experience eating like a local. We’re huge foodies so loved picking his brain about Japanese cuisine and even got some home cooking tips! Ryo, thank you so much for a fabulous evening. Our conversations and fun evening really left a print on our hearts and we will remember it forever! Look forward to one day when our paths cross again. Thank you so much.

We had an amazing food experience with Ryo. His enthusiasm for the local Ginza food scene and traditional local foods made the evening enjoyable and fun. We tried food from local izakayas that we would not have found on our own. It was a very special experience. We would highly recommend this tour.
