If you seek nature adventures & being transported back in time, then this is a tour for you. Jordan, a phenomenal, seasoned & knowledge tour guide, absolutely loves conducting this tour and it shows in his enthusiasm when interacting with the group. Luckily we were able to experience Mount Takao on the last peak fall day of 2025. The colorful full spectrum of fall leaves blanketed the mountain and surrounding areas. Breathtaking!! Jordan’s tour touched upon the local flora, plants, animals & insects. In addition, he covered some of the historical mythology, folklore, Buddhist rituals, practices, philosophies of Mount Takao. You felt as though you stepped back into ancient time standing on the grounds of the shines & temples. For me, sighting 3 hawks while riding on the chair lifts & sighting Fuji-san at the summit was spiritual & lucky. Our day also included ramen on Mount Takao & relaxing at a nearby hot spring. While riding back into town we enjoyed roadside Christmas lights. Bravo, Jordan, for providing a unique & memorable experience, I can’t wait to take the Mount Takao tour during Cherry Blossom in 2026. Arigato gozaimasu!!❤️

An incredible experience and great guidance from Jordan! Mount Takao offers the perfect balance between a challenging hike and a relaxing nature escape. I chose the hiking route to the summit, and I’m so glad I did. Jordan was amazing, he shared fascinating details about the local flora, fauna, and the history of the shrines we passed along the way. Once at the top, the view was breathtaking and seeing the majestic Mt. Fuji made me truly understand why mountains are so revered in Shintoism (something Jordan had just explained during the hiking). To top it off, we visited Buddhist temples on the descent, enjoyed delicious ramen, and ended the day at a traditional onsen (public hot spring). It was the perfect Japanese experience. Jordan is kind, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable, I can't recommend him enough!

Jordan is an excellent guide. We were lucky to have him just for us today, and we could really enjoy the experience. After visiting the tourist center, we decided to hike up to Mt Takao to discover a beautiful view over Tokyo, the surroundings and to Mt Fuji. All through the way, Jordan told us more about the temples, local beliefs, buddhas and worships. The lunch break with Ramen was very good at a welcoming little restaurant. In the afternoon, the monkey Parc was fun to observe. We could end the day with a relaxing time at this traditional onsen, which does accept people with tattoos. After a few days in Tokyo, taking a day to enjoy the nature, the hotsprings and temples at Mont Takao is definitely recommended. We recommend Jordan to guide you through this adventure!

Awesome experience with Jordan who was just an amazing guide the whole day being really kind and knowing really well all the history behind every temple, statues, trees and all the things we saw. Ramen was excellent and finishing the day by going to the Onsen was just perfect and relaxing before going back home. Thanks again to Jordan for this day.

Such a great tour! Jordan was an amazing tour guide, I learnt so much about the temples and traditions on Mt Takao. Got to see some amazing views, lucky enough to see Mt Fuji! The onsen was a beautiful way to end the tour, slept really well that night. Had such a special day exploring, eating and learning.

Five stars doesn’t do this tour justice. Not only is Jordan a great tour guide through authentic Japanese history, nature and cuisine…he creates an atmosphere of inclusion and warmth that made everyone on the tour feel like we’ve known him for years! I can’t recommend this tour enough…must do!

Honestly the best tour I’ve ever done. Jordan was an excellent guide. He was exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly, and took us to both touristy “must see” spots and hidden gems. I would recommend to anyone traveling to Tokyo.

Ready for a long review? :) Before booking the experience, we communicated with Jordan via WhatsApp because we needed some flexibility with timing. Jordan went above and beyond to accommodate our needs so we could book the experience. He met my husband and myself at the exact place he indicated and we felt the calm, positive energy right away. He's originally from Jamaica and his English is impeccable so that was a plus as my husband loves to ask lots of questions! We started at 9 am heading towards Mt. Takao while he was telling us a bit about the culture in Japan, showing us some interesting sites on the way and making sure we agreed with all the options planned. The short visit to the Museum was interesting and worth it. This is a 1/2 day experience that requires lots of walking and going up stairs; we love hiking and going on long walks so this was perfect for us, but know that there will be walking required and Jordan can customize a bit the difficulty of the journey. The visit to the Temples is really nice while Jordan explains the meanings, history and customary practices, we thoroughly enjoyed it! We had lunch at a typical soba noodle spot and rode from there to the Hot Spring Site. This experience is incredible! So relaxing and well earned after the hike! It really represents much of the Japanese culture! Jordan was so nice in giving us lots of recommendations for restaurants, sightseeing in Tokyo, off the beaten path spots and even Japanese words to get by! We highly recommend booking with him! Thanks Jordan for your kindness!
