Wow, Shino was an amazing tour guide. She took us on a private hidden gems walking tour of Tokyo, which so far was the highlight of our Japan trip. We saw an amazing fire ceremony at an off the beaten path shrine -completely authentic and jaw dropping. She will Customize whatever kind of tour you want. In addition to the amazing sites and experiences, she has an encyclopedic knowledge of all things Japan to include historical information, cultural learnings, etc. Oh, and she’s also an amazing human being. Look no further and book this tour!

Our guide Mrs. Shino Hioki showed us a lot of Tokyo in 1 day. We enjoyed her way of guiding in which she determined what was interesting for us in consultation with us. Thank you very much for this and if there is another time we will gladly use her again as a guide.

We had such a great tour with Shino! All the stops were fantastic and it was a very unique way to see a lesser known area of Tokyo. Would highly recommend to anyone for a tour!

We had an incredible walking tour with Shino and couldn’t recommend her more highly. She was thoughtful, patient, and incredibly communicative from the start, and seamlessly tailored the experience to match our interests. Shino brought each location to life with rich history and context, while also being flexible—graciously adjusting the pace when we wanted to explore different sights along the way. Her deep knowledge of Japan, combined with her ability to uncover hidden gems, made the experience truly special and memorable. We had a wonderful time with her and would absolutely recommend her to family and friends. Spending half a day with Shino was more than worth it—and honestly, we wish we had her as our guide for our entire trip!

I’m currently studying Japanese. Shino tailored the tour to my requests, using both English and Japanese to explain the history and local neighborhoods in a fun way. It was incredibly educational and enjoyable.

I had the most perfect afternoon with Shino in the Yanaka neighborhood, which feels like a hidden gem compared to the hustle of shinjuku for example. Shino is a friendly, knowledgeable, wonderful human and I learned lots about the neighborhood and Japan, from ancient history to modern culture, trends, customs, and more. It was a pleasure to get to know each other and we shared stories and laughs over amazing food and drink. Incredible value for the price. 10/10 would recommend and I hope to come back and tour with her again. Thank you, Shino! <3

My husband and I had a wonderful time with Shino. A lot of tours promise “hidden gems” but she really delivers! She proposed several original itineraries based on our interests. The option we chose exceeded our expectations - stunning, uncrowded and off the beaten track. Shino was charming and delightful company, full of knowledge and insights about Japanese culture and society, both past and present. We spent a half day with her and wished we had more time. I look forward to booking with Shino again on our next trip.

Shino was the perfect walking tour guide. I highly recommend her if you want a personalized tour. We told her that we wanted to go to the non-touristy places in Tokyo and she brought us to where the locals hang out and to the quieter parts of the city away from the busy areas. She also gave us insight into Japan’s culture, history and politics which we appreciated. If I had more time in Tokyo I’d book another tour again with her to go to other places. I think your that is at least 4 hours is the best, but longer if you have more time.

I had the most magical day with Shino. Her historical knowledge is extensive and she makes everything so interesting. The sushi lunch was amazing and I especially enjoyed the wander through Yanaka Ginza. I thoroughly recommend Shino as a guide.

Our day with Shino was interesting and fun. To have a knowledgeable guide by your side makes all the difference. Shino took us to a fantastic small sushi place. We loved it so much we went back the day after. I can highly recommend Shino to show you around Tokyo.
