New Year's Eve Nihonbashi walkabout

5.00I was lucky enough to be able to join a walking tour with Shino-san in Nihonbashi and Asakusa on New Year's Eve. What a lovely experience it was to learn more about these areas with someone like Shino who adds so much details and interesting facts and history. I have lived in Tokyo for three years and I will certainly return again to experience Nihonbashi, what a cool part of the city to explore. Shino is very flexible and willing to accommodate you on her tours with what you would like to experience and is quite knowledgeable when it comes to adding even more. Highly recommended!

5.00What a wonderful tour! Shino’s knowledge of Japanese history is encyclopedic, but more importantly she has a great sense of humor and provided great insight into Japanese culture and helped us see a side of Japan we never would have seen without her. Highly recommended!

5.00My friend and I had a great time walking through Yanaka. We saw many beautiful things and tried many tasteful foods in the length of a few hours. Shino is great!! She is very personable, knowledgeable, and professional. We were very fortunate to have her as our guide on the tour.

5.00I had a wonderful experience taking Shino's tour in Yanaka. From the beginning, Shino demonstrated her genuine care for her customers. Before the tour, she sent me an email asking about my interests and preferences so she could design a suitable tour for me. As my tour started late in the afternoon and it got dark by that time, Shinoeven went to the location in advance to check if it was still active after 4:30 pm. I was very impressed by her knowledge of the area and Japanese history. She answered all my questions in a way that was both engaging and easy to understand (and I asked a lot :) ). Even after the tour ended, Shino took me to Nezu Shrine and explained the meaning of the guardian dogs there in detail, which made the visit so meaningful to me. Shino went far beyond the scheduled four hours of the tour. She kindly took me to a local draft beer spot for dinner. On the way there, we stopped by a traditional printing store where all the pictures were hand-printed on handmade paper using techniques that have existed for hundreds of years. The prints were so beautiful that I wished I could buy the entire store. Shino's philosophy is to make her customers happy, so she continued to help me the following day by guiding me on how to join a free guided tour at the Imperial Garden. If you'd like a personalized tour with a local, knowledgeable friend who truly wants you to have the best possible experience in Tokyo, Shino is definitely the guide to choose!
