5.00I had a wonderful day exploring Yanaka with Shino! The food was absolutely delicious (I especially enjoyed the mochi and sushi!), in places I likely wouldn’t have ventured into myself. I really enjoyed Yanaka the last time I visited, but having a guide like Shino unlocked new layers of this great little neighbourhood. She was really generous with her knowledge and answered my questions about Japanese culture and folklore so thoughtfully too! Shino was super accommodating of my food preferences on short notice and she took time and care to tailor things to make sure it was a great experience. She was also so easy to chat to and a lovely person to spend time with in general! Highly recommend a tour with Shino!

5.00Shino is a great guide. She is very knowledgeable about Japanese history and culture. She also knows the best places to go. The food was amazing and the temple was gorgeous. The garden inside the temple was the highlight for me. I would really recommend this tour.

5.00We explored Shibamata town with Shino, it was a great experience! Definitely a hidden gem in Tokyo, it was nice te escape the crowds and enjoy a quieter area with delicious food and a beautiful temple, especially the garden. I was also pleasantly surprised by the amount of food that was included, definitely a standout point for this tour. Shibamata is also known from the movie series about Tora-san, a nostalgic character for a lot of Japanese, so it was interesting to learn about the less mainstream parts of Japan’s popculture.

5.00I joined a Shibamata tour with my friends through Tokyo Hidden Gems, and it was such a wonderful experience from start to finish! We explored so many interesting spots from the Tora-san Museum, which offers a nostalgic look at classic Japanese cinema, to the charming local shops and food stalls along the traditional shopping street. We tried freshly made mochi, other street snacks, and even visited an old Japanese candy shop that felt like stepping back in time. The walk to the temple nearby was peaceful and full of beautiful details. Our guide explained everything so clearly from the wood carvings and architecture to the meaning behind certain designs making the visit even more special. We ended the tour with a relaxing stroll by the riverbank, enjoying the calm and lovely views. Our guide was amazing, knowledgeable, friendly, and full of fascinating stories about the history, food, and culture of the area. We learned so much while having a great time together! If you want to experience a more authentic, local side of Tokyo, I highly recommend booking a tour with Tokyo Hidden Gems. It’s the perfect mix of culture, history, and delicious food, truly a hidden gem!

5.00I had such a wonderful tour with Shino! She showed us so many authentic, local places that I would have never discovered on my own. My highlight was visiting a beer brewery located inside an old sake brewery, such a unique and memorable experience! Shino was incredibly kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. She answered all of our questions with patience and shared so many interesting stories about each place we visited. Highly recommend her tours if you want to see the real side of Japan!

5.00I can’t recommend Shino enough! She’s incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and patient. She even tried to teach me how to use chopsticks (lol). She made learning about Japan’s culture and history so enjoyable and engaging. No question was ever too small, and she went out of her way to help us try new foods and find the best souvenirs. Thanks to her, our day in Tokyo was unforgettable. Shino truly has a gift for what she does! 🇯🇵❤️
