Myth of Tomorrow

The Myth of Tomorrow" is a large mural created by the famous Japanese artist Taro Okamoto, located in Shibuya Station, Tokyo. This striking piece depicts the horrors and destruction of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, as well as a broader message of hope and rebirth. The mural, originally created in Mexico and later moved to Japan, was lost for many years before being rediscovered and restored. Now, it stands as a powerful symbol of post-war rebirth and the potential for a brighter future. Visitors to Shibuya can view this iconic work of art in the bustling context of one of Tokyo's most dynamic neighborhoods, making it a poignant stop in the heart of modern Japan.

We went with Grey. She was very knowledgeable, patience and answered all our questions. The tour itself was very interesting with topics and places you will not get familiar with by yourself. Highly recommended.

Mr Loc was so upbeat and fun and had a wealth of knowledge and the tour was really interesting. I felt like we saw some neat spots in Tokyo that the people who live there know about but many visitors don’t (aside from the famous Scramble Crossing which was so much fun). For example, we got to see an area of bars/restaurants that only seat 3 or 4 people and as Loc explained, they may be gone in the future. We also saw a street with interconnected bars/restaurants and got to walk through it. Just mentioning a few of the interesting sights we got to see. Thank you Loc!!
