My family loves food tours, but this isn't one we would recommend to everyone. We like a food tour that shows us places and foods we couldn't find on our own as tourists and gives us deep insight into local food culture. I can't say this one did that. The food was good, but most of the dishes we were having on our own all week. The guide was a nice guy, but he wasn't very charismatic and we felt like the actual "tour" part of the night was kind of corny. The biggest problem with the tour was for our guest with a seafood and fish allergy. I contacted the tour company beforehand to ask how the tour would be for someone with these limitations. They told me there was one stop at a seafood restaurant where she couldn't have anything, but she could eat everything at the other stops. It's partially my fault for not checking the order of the stops, but the seafood stop was first and the second spot was a couple of bites of katsu, so the person with the allergy only had a couple of bites of food 2 hours into the tour. That would have been really useful information as we showed up hungry. The third stop has some dishes with seafood and the fourth stop was dessert. Overall, I wouldn't recommend for someone with a seafood/fish allergy. I also wouldn't recommend for intense foodies who like a really unique food tour. But as a basic introduction to Japanese cuisine, it does the trick!

The guide walked very fast, so I could barely hear his explanations of the cityscape as we moved. He only talked to the people walking in front of him, so an elderly person like me with bad legs couldn't enjoy the tour.

Dai was our tour guide and he was fantastic! Super knowledgeable, shared information about the Shinjuku area in addition to the food, and had perfect English. This was our last night in Japan, and Dai was by far our best tour guide we had on the whole trip. There was a variety of food options. We were definitely full by the end of the tour.

The guide Naruto was amazing. Je is very knowledgable and speaks impeccable English. Hsving lived or worked in many countries gives Naruto a deep understanding of culture. The food on the tour was terrific. The 7 or so vearieties of sashimi was extraordinary - fresh and and quite filling. Since I didn't drink the alcohol I can't comment first hand but the group seemed to enjoy the drinks. Naruto spoke knowingly about Shinjuko and took us to a narrow alley and a stret where the Yakuza reigned. I highly recommend this tour and Naruto as the guide,

The guide was very knowledgeable and guided well in fluent English. But I wasn't impressed with the food that was served. Several of the dishes felt simple and cheap, no real hit. However, the guide nevertheless lifted the experience of the tour.
