What To Expect
Muralla de Toledo
Toledo has had a wall from the Romans, which had to be rebuilt by the Visigoth King Wamba in 674. The current wall is of Arab origin where we can find some Roman remains. King Alfonso VI, is granted the completion of the works of the wall in 1085, after reconquering the city. Toledo has always had a great wall, well known throughout its history, taking center stage its entrance and exit doors, such as the Puerta de Bisagra, the Puerta de Alfonso VI or the Puerta del Cambrón.
Plaza De Zocodover
The Plaza de Zocodover is a square of the city of Toledo. It was the nerve center of the city during most of its history, acting as its main square. A part of it was designed by Juan de Herrera in times of the reign of Felipe II

4.00Arancia was very sweet and helpful throughout the tour. The viewpoints were specifically very beautiful, however, there were many of the stops where we stayed a bit too long and were ready to go to the next one.

5.00The itinerary was very well organized, making the overall flow smooth and efficient. Time was used effectively throughout the tour, allowing for a comfortable yet comprehensive experience. The guide was friendly and attentive, providing clear and helpful explanations. Even with a 5-year-old child, the experience was not tiring, as there were well-timed breaks and free periods built into the schedule. This made it easy to enjoy the tour comfortably with a young child. It was truly a well-spent day, and the tour was thoughtfully planned. I would definitely recommend it.

2.00Unfortunately overall experience didn’t meet our expectations. Firstly, the meeting time was set at 8:30 am, but the actual departure was at 9:15, so we had to wait outside at quite chilly weather for 45 minutes. Our guide was very friendly but provided information was actually quite limited. There was no guided tour through the town and almost no time to explore it on our own. Overall the price of the tour (67 euro) was definitely too high for such an experience.

3.00Tour on the Viator website was listed as a ‘half day’ 5 hour tour. When in fact it was 8 plus hours. Whilst our tour guide was absolutely amazing and genuinely seemed lovely; the tour was in dual language. This meant waiting twice as long everywhere while the same thing was discussed in both languages. This netted in what felt like hours throughout the day of standing around, rather than seeing more of the beautiful sites. Likewise it was a large group (50 plus people) with one guide. The receivers only had a 15-20m range before they cut out, which with smaller groups would be great. But in a monster group like this, often in the small streets you were out of range missing the information. Likewise the large group format meant lengthy waiting while the tour guide ‘herded cats’

4.00Our tour guide was a lovely person, and the tour was really enjoyable! The only tweak that I would recommend to enhance to experience would be to get better sound transmitters as they didn’t have the best sound quality and range, also it would be awesome if you could select what language you wanted the your tour to be in and it was just that language instead of two to speed the tour up!
