What To Expect
Muralla de Toledo
Toledo has had a wall from the Romans, which had to be rebuilt by the Visigoth King Wamba in 674. The current wall is of Arab origin where we can find some Roman remains. King Alfonso VI, is granted the completion of the works of the wall in 1085, after reconquering the city. Toledo has always had a great wall, well known throughout its history, taking center stage its entrance and exit doors, such as the Puerta de Bisagra, the Puerta de Alfonso VI or the Puerta del Cambrón.
Plaza De Zocodover
The Plaza de Zocodover is a square of the city of Toledo. It was the nerve center of the city during most of its history, acting as its main square. A part of it was designed by Juan de Herrera in times of the reign of Felipe II

4.00A Medieval Masterpiece Worth the Climb! Toledo is a stunning melting pot of cultures. Walking through its narrow, winding streets feels like stepping back in time. The views from the Mirador del Valle are breathtaking, and the city's rich history is evident in every corner. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that it can get very crowded with day-trippers, and the steep hills can be quite a workout! Highly recommend! Absolute Gothic Grandeur. This is easily one of the most impressive cathedrals in Spain. The interior is a treasure trove of art, with masterpieces by El Greco and Goya that left me speechless. The choir stalls and the 'El Transparente' altar are architectural marvels. I took off one star because the entry fee is a bit steep (around €12-€18) and they are quite strict about photography in certain areas. Still, it is a must-visit when in Toledo.
A costly mistake on my part...

1.00I did not go, so my rating DOES NOT reflect the actual trip experience. I post this to call attention to what happened to me, in hopes that others do not make the same mistake Initially, I purchased a ticket for Feb 17, 2026, and used Google maps to guide me to the meeting point since this was my first trip to Madrid. I arrived at 8:45am but thought I may have missed the bus when I did not see it. I immediately booked a second trip online for the next day and arrived earlier, only to discover that Google maps took me to "Calle de San Bernadino" on both days, INSTEAD of the actual meeting point at "Calle de San Bernardo." By the time I realized my mistake, it was too late. Not all tour operators may follow-up or reach out to their guests who are tardy or "no-shows." In this case, it may have helped me realize my error sooner. Nonetheless, it was a costly mistake on my part. I urge everyone to please be sure you check the fine and confirm location details ahead of time.

5.00Arantxa was so sweet and lovely she made it so fun! The group as a whole was a lovely experience and it was nice having a tour guide so we had context and didn’t get lost. I will say we were tempted by the shops we were passing during the tour but we got a 1.5 hour break for lunch and were able to shop then. And she made sure to point out any times there were bathrooms. However I do feel like since we were with a group we didn’t cover as much of Toledo as we could have it was just myself and my partner. We did think there was more to see in Toledo, but we went in one synagogue and then the main cathedral and walked around the streets and the Jewish quarter a lot. Our tour guide made the experience worth it and we were sad when it was over.
