What To Expect

Muralla de Toledo

Toledo has had a wall from the Romans, which had to be rebuilt by the Visigoth King Wamba in 674. The current wall is of Arab origin where we can find some Roman remains. King Alfonso VI, is granted the completion of the works of the wall in 1085, after reconquering the city. Toledo has always had a great wall, well known throughout its history, taking center stage its entrance and exit doors, such as the Puerta de Bisagra, the Puerta de Alfonso VI or the Puerta del Cambrón.

The Plaza de Zocodover is a square of the city of Toledo. It was the nerve center of the city during most of its history, acting as its main square. A part of it was designed by Juan de Herrera in times of the reign of Felipe II

Toledo was a beautiful and charming city to visit. I think best way to do. It is take a bus from Madrid, which takes only about an hour and it is way cheaper than do a tour. It’s so much history in this city you will absolutely love it. browsing through the small street and watching all the architecture it is absolutely amazing.

We originally were looking to take a train from Madrid to Toledo but there weren’t any running on the days we were in town and decided to book through Viator. Really had a wonderful time in this tour. It was a great way to see Toledo in a short amount of time. Our guide, Arantxa, was great. She was affable and knowledgeable and did a great job of catering to our needs. All of our stops were great and worth our time. The note is Toledo is extremely hilly and this tour requires a lot of walking, most of it uphill. If you or your guests have a hard time with this, please stop to consider if this is the right tour for you. Otherwise- I was very happy with our choice. The Cathedral is amazing.
The best thing about the visit was the cathedral, the circuit was very interesting and beautiful

The town is lovely and the tour was informative. It was a bit too rushed, and sometimes I’m not sure if the guide is answering questions or talking to the rest of us, but it was a good experience.

A beautiful November day in Toledo with our lovely guide Arantxa…who was upbeat, informative and patient. A walk through the town to many of the key spots…always accompanied with interesting commentary…never felt rushed. Ended with independent lunch and shopping time…while I’d have liked more shopping time it would have compromised tour time!! Back in Madrid by 5pm Thank you!

Five hours full of experience and great memories. Our guide, Arantxa, was great and made all the difference. Her knowledge and kindness contributed even more for a great tour. But be ware: will have to walk a lot, as was previously advised!!

Amazing tour, the guide Arantxa was quite exceptional, polite and full of positive energy. She made sure that everything that was explained in spanish first, was fully translated into english. Lots of facts and knowledge and history. Trully one of the best guide tour i had. It is 100% worth to pay for the cathedral ticket.
