This was an amazing tour! We had no expectations going into it and it was such an enjoyable, educational experience. We had a lot of fun spotting different night critters, learning about plants, etc. Alberto is very knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the world around him. Very inspiring to hear about the work and care he has put into creating this space. Thanks again and keep up the great work! Hope we’ll all come back as vultures some day. :)

Wow. Having stumbled upon this tour last minute could be nothing other than fate. Immediately it was clear that the tour guide, Alberto, was a master in his field of work, a walking encyclopedia. He clearly explained what to expect and strongly encouraged to ask questions about everything we saw. The tour was a little over 2 hours and every minute felt like we were learning something new. Definitely our most memorable memory made in La Fortuna.

Our two Anura tours were the best rainforest nature experiences I’ve had (I’ve done others in CR, the Amazon, SE Asia). The wildlife diversity (and photo ops) were fascinating to look at, as always, but the in-depth insights our guide provided made the experience truly transformative. Alberto is an actual scientist (originally from Spain), and has devoted 20 years to preservation, reforestation, and research, on multiple continents. He had a gift for enthusiastic storytelling while communicating fascinating insights about so many bio-topics, including amphibians, reptiles, birds, insects, botany, forest edibles, mushrooms, biochemistry, evolutionary biology, land use, ecology, etc. I was also pleasantly surprised by the well-maintained gravel trails they had built, which made everything so easily accessible (no need for hiking boots, dealing with mud, slipping on logs, walking into unexpected creepy things, which I usually expect). I highly recommend this operation’s tours, especially for anyone who enjoys learning next/level secrets of this fascinating ecosystem. We did the 2-hour night tour, then immediately signed up for the “Eco Tour” the next morning. I’ll definitely return on my next visit!

We booked the night tour at Anura Ecological Park after hearing great things from other travelers, and somehow it still surpassed every expectation we had. From start to finish, the experience felt personal, educational, and unforgettable. Alberto was one of the best guides we’ve ever had on any tour. His knowledge of the rainforest and its wildlife was incredibly impressive, but what really stood out was how enthusiastic and engaging he was throughout the walk. He took the time to answer every question and made sure everyone in the group had a chance to fully experience what we were seeing. The diversity of wildlife was amazing. We saw brightly colored frogs, sleeping birds, insects, spiders, reptiles, and so many fascinating species hidden throughout the forest. It honestly felt like stepping into another world once the sun went down. The park itself is beautiful, and the nighttime setting makes everything feel even more alive. One of our favorite parts of the tour was learning about the plants and ecological balance of the rainforest. You can tell Anura is passionate about conservation and building a healthy environment for both visitors and wildlife. It made the experience feel meaningful in a way many tours do not. If you enjoy nature, wildlife photography, biology, or simply want a unique experience in Costa Rica, this tour is absolutely worth your time. We would return again without hesitation.

Our night walking tour at Anura Ecological Park was easily one of the highlights of our trip to Costa Rica. We went in with high expectations based on other reviews, and somehow the experience still managed to exceed them. The tour was led by Alberto, a trained biologist whose passion for the rainforest was obvious from the moment we started. This was far more than a standard wildlife walk. Over the course of roughly two hours, he introduced us not only to incredible nocturnal animals, but also to the fascinating plant life that makes this ecosystem so unique. My wife and I especially appreciated how much time he spent explaining the rainforest itself, from native plants and ecological relationships to the tiny details most people would walk right past. The biodiversity we encountered was remarkable. We saw multiple species of frogs, insects, spiders, reptiles, and other nighttime wildlife that we never would have spotted on our own. Alberto’s ability to find hidden animals in complete darkness honestly felt unreal at times. Every few minutes there seemed to be something new to discover. The trails themselves were beautiful, peaceful, and incredibly immersive after dark. What truly sets Anura apart is the care and conservation effort behind the experience. You can tell the staff genuinely care about protecting and cultivating the habitat, which means the tour continues to evolve as the ecosystem grows and matures. It feels less like a commercial attraction and more like being invited into a carefully protected piece of rainforest. Photos honestly cannot capture how magical this place feels at night. Between the sounds of the jungle, the incredible wildlife, and the knowledge shared throughout the tour, this became one of the most memorable experiences we’ve had in Costa Rica. We will absolutely return every time we visit the La Fortuna area, and I cannot recommend this tour highly enough to anyone looking for an authentic and unforgettable rainforest experience.

It was a little scary being in the dark, but Angie made it feel comfortable, and she was great at helping us find some cute frogs, insects, and telling us about the agriculture! Really enjoyable night!

Amazing experience. I was a bit scared because of my fear of certain insects. However, the tour guide was amazing; highly recommended for everyone. The tour guide has vast knowledge about all species within this park. He looks for different animals, and you must hear his story about the creation of this ecological park. I truly had an amazing experience and highly recommend it.

We did the night tour with the family. Great experience! With flashlights looking for everything that lives at night. We have seen many different frogs and toads but also snakes, spiders, caimans, butterflies and insects. The path is paved and safe to walk on. The guides are very good and also had a good telescope to zoom in extra where necessary. The children and also we loved it.
